I am at my wits end after spending an hour on the phone. My Openreach modem got so hot out of the blue that the bottom has actually distorted and discoloured. It is completely in the open, and uncovered, where the engineer installed it nearly two years ago. Its amazingly still working and I have now moved it and it hasnt got as hot since. A Google search shows this to be very common. However, I was told on the phone that as it isnt affecting my speed there is nothing TT can do. My point is that the equipment is at fault and I want it replaced. I am now at the mercy of a call from BT, but I would really like this replaced with the new super router to bypass the modem altogether. I have been with TT for 7 years and have had fibre for the last 2 years. Could you areange for me to at least have a super router to try? Or at least a replacement modem? Customer service just couldnt see my point that this is a fire hazard. Many thanks in advance.
