Turn Off Wi-Fi optimisation technology

I am unable to change channels on my Sagemcom Router. When I change channel it reverts back to Channel 1

 

I have a Ring Doorbell and it has issues connecting on this channel but is OK on others.

 

I have read on previous posts that the Wi-Fi optimisation technology is responsible for the channels not "sticking" to the one I select.

 

Can you please turn this off on my account?

No Power to TalkTalk Hub - URGENT

Hi.

 

I have been having problems with my router for some time and have had a few chat/support sessions with TalkTalk over the last couple of months. The connection was intermittently dropping when the router randomly re-booted for no reason. I suspected an issue with the router hardware but nobody seemed to be able to work out what the problem was and were not prepared to accept that the router was at fault. The router has now completely powered off and will not turn back on. I've tried all the options, replacing the power supply, checking it with a direct connection to the mains (rather than an extension), leaving it completely disconnected for 2 hours+, but there are still no lights and no power to the unit at all. I think a replacement is definitely required. I've temporarily managed to get an old router set up so that I am able to continue to work from home, but could urgently do with a replacement router as this set up is not ideal. Can this be arranged please?

DG8041w firmware - continuing issue

As far as I am aware there has not been a revised firmware for this Huawei router / hub that allows me to access my webserver remotely. It has been many months since I first raised the issue and I know that before that it had been raised with the development team by Keith French.

 

Before I raise the matter formally with the relevant Talktalk Director can an OCE advise what plans there are to correct this obvious fault in the firmware and perhaps more importantly given HM Government's thoughts on Huawei as a supplier, whether Talktalk plan to quietly drop this device without any further firmware development.

 

On the face of it this router has some features that I would very much like to use but until I can open ports to access my webserver remotely I cannot use it.

Hello, I'm considering getting 3 Eero routers (from Amazon). I wanted to check if:

 

1. The routers are compatible with TalkTalk such that I can use them instead of TalkTalk router?

 

2. Can I use this to create a mesh network with TalkTalk fibre service.

So 4 weeks ago I contacted TT about the speed of my broadband.

It's been dropping every week since.

 

Online chat doesn't help one bit, an just keep going around in circles.

Like have you moved your router etc etc.

Everytime I tell them my router hasn't moved in the 2 years I've been with Talktalk.

 

Started off with great speeds (for my area) 50mb+

Since I recently resigned to TT, my speeds are now less than 35mb over 2 last weeks.

 

An today my speed is actually worse than dial up.

My router is on 24hours a day (chat keep asking if i turn it off?)

 

Todays speed via the router dashboard 5.7mb Down / 5.1mb Up

 

It's getting beyond a joke.

 

Faster Fibre Slow

Hi Team , 

the Faster Fibre has been connected more then 10 days ago and they told me to wait to see the adjustment of the speed.  As you can see my speed is really to low compare with the normal Fibra but seems a normal broadband. can you please double check and let me know what I suppose to do ?

Would like to upgrade to fibre

When we moved into our house 5 years ago, the TalkTalk website insisted we couldn't have fibre - although the BT guy told us the cabinet had definitely been upgraded. So we just went with normal broadband. The TalkTalk website does now seems to agree that it's available

 

If I upgrade to "Faster Fibre" for faster upload speeds in particular, what will happen? We need to avoid outages as much as possible because we are two University lecturers running online classes for students during local lockdown. Will there be an outage, if so, how long, and can I keep my existing router? (new from TalkTalk last month)

 

And how can I check that Fibre really is available at our address? Any advice would be gratefully received.

My activation date isn’t till the 16th but my router etc has come today and I’ve set it up and connected it how it should be, will it activate sooner or will I have to wait? 


Talktalk faster broadband slower than Plusnet standard broadband

I switched from Plusnet standard broadband to Talktalk faster broadband on 1 October for the extra line speed. I thought the small additional cost would be worth it.

Prior to the switch I was consistently getting just over 34 Mbps with Plusnet. 

 

Last Friday 9 Oct, I contact Talktalk via online chat because the line speed had dropped to 20.32 Mbps. Person I chatted with said their was a "lock" on our line and I should switch the router off for 30 minutes. 

 

After switching the router back on, the speed had increased to 29.21 Mbps and has stayed at around that level ever since. The person I chatted with gave me the impression that Talktalk would monitor our line and the speed should increase within two days.

So currently Talktalk faster fibre is 15% slower than Plusnet standard fibre and cost slightly more per month.

Engineer already came and suggested to order a new router, router came and still no fix.. it has been five days now..

Upgraded to Superfast Fibre £24.00 per month, fixed for 18 months

Hi,

My broadband contract ended 8/10/20 and I received an email from yourselves on 4/9/20 with option to upgrade to superfast fibre £24.00 per month, fixed for 18 months. I clicked this option to upgrade to superfast fibre on 2/10/20, however my account is showing new contract still on faster fibre upto Apr 2022. Please can you ensure I am on superfast fibre for £24 month.

Hi talk talk community,

I went live with g fast 150 on 16th june 2020 and my speeds were 100-105mbps down and 8-9mbps up. since an engineer came round last week and changed the junction route my speed have increased. 135mbps down and 11-12mbps up. while my download is below the average that is ok but my upload speed is 6-7mbps slower then my previous 80mbps package and i should be averaging 22mbps. what has caused this?

I have faster fibre with the super fibre boost. My laptop, iPad and phone connect with no problems but my Toshiba TV and Now TV stick refuse to connect. Also my Amazon Prime box is very temperamental and quotes "connected with problems". Any suggestions gratefully received.

Internet down just after midnight

Out of the blue whilst video editing on laptop and downloading live streams - as I usually am - internet went down.  Service Centre says all my devices are connected and working as they should be, but no PCs are in the list and my router (talktalk hub) light is orange despite rebooting.  Windows troubleshooter reported DNS Server unavailable.  Where  can I check when TalkTalk help is closed... ???

My internet connection is unacceptable:( it

keeps dropping 10-15 times a day making it impossible to work. Anyone had the same issue and can advise how to get in touch with customer services?

Hi, Ive has issues with slow fibre over the last few weeks. My connection was 50-60mbs but has dropped to around 30mbs. An engineer came out yesterday  to check my setup which was fine, but later that night my connection dropped to 3mbs and is now sitting at about 7.

I recently had Fibre installed and I wasn’t  given a new router so I have tried to set up with my old router (SAGECOM 2704N) but it isn’t working.

 

Any idea if it will work?

Or have I just not set up correctly?

Huawei HG633 not recognised using Talktalk's "service status" check.

Hi.

 

I'm on Faster Fibre package and initially was getting broadband speeds anywhere between 25-30mbit/s. Recently I've noticed that connection speed has dropped and now speeds vary between 20-25mbit/s. I've done service status check through talktalk's webstie and you were unable to recognise my router. I'm using talktalk's own Huawei HG633 router. After I've logged to the router I have also noticed that I am running it on old firmware (ver1.21t) where 2.00t is widely available now. 

I've tried resetting my router to it's default settings and switched router off for 30min which supposedly should reset dlm. After completing above steps my connection speed hasn't gone up and router still comes up as "unrecognised" on talktalk's website.

I've runned line check several times but there were no faults.

Please could you update my router to newest available firmware and make it visible again at your end and possibly improve my download speed a bit?

Connecting BT610 wifi extender to talktalk router

I've just switched from plusnet to talktalk fibre. 

The talktalk router is fine as is the broadband at around 35mbps real speed

BUT i cannot get my BT610 wifi extender to connect. I've tried the wps. I've tried the methoed without wps. I tried to access the BT610 setup without success and it would appear that my talktalk hub cannot see the BT610 extender.

Does anyone have any idea or am i into buying a new extender?

Hello! Just been set up with fiber and a new wifi hub

 

Currently running firmware version SG4K10001400t and would really like some of the features of the newer updates such as DHCP reservations

 

Saw that someone on here requested an update and just got it done. Would be happy to do it myself, but can't find where to download anything
