Joined talk talk 3 weeks ago. Brilliant speeds as promised for initial 2 weeks. THEN slowly speeds decreased THEN I lost the ability to connect to the Internet last week forcing me to go into office to work in order to get PAID!!. Eventually got through to customer services and was told an engineer is needed but don't need to be home THEN I am told I need to be home for an engineer. Fast forward to Saturday just gone by. Engineer arrives and about 2 HOURS later my connection is back. His findings were that my router was out of sync and couldn't connect to network. It had nothing to do with my router, power supply, position of router, micro filters, master socket or even the outside wire that was newly installed on live day. The problem was not inside my HOUSE!!!.
Now, fast forward to YESTERDAY. The issue is back AGAIN!!!!. LEFT WITHOUT INTERNET. Forcing me to GO INTO OFFICE DURING RESTRICTIONS to be able to earn my wage to allow me to pay for SERVICE I AM NOT GETTING.
So, out of desperation, I switched router off (then had to leave for work so off 12 hours) and begged friends and family to let me borrow their landline phone so I can check for any noise. Got home from work with a landline phone. Connected this before switching on router. Guess what I found NO NOISE AND NO CRACKING SOUNDS. So switched on router and Internet is back. BUT it didn't last, all night last night the router rotated between solid white for 10 or 20 mins then, blinking Amber for few mins then blinking Amber and white for few minutes more before establishing the connection and going back to solid white. This happened throughout night were I had brief access to the Internet before being disconnected.
Now we are at this MORNING. Wake up and find no internet but this time it never fixed itself. So with my borrowed landline I checked for noise..NONE. then suddenly Internet came back on. I waited half hour with no hope of going back online BUT it connects when I check if I have dial tone??? Really?? Coincidence maybe but it shows a fault with network if checking dial tone puts router back in sync. Sadly.... it didn't last.
Now I am on bus heading to work AGAIN. I barely get time to talk to customer services due to the limited breaks and my working hours so trying to see if some1 will sort it here.
All I want is a stable connection. I want a permanent fix. I dont need a new router as my new router is fine. All my wires are fine. The master socket is fine as brand new. The new line installed is fine as new. Everything is new.
If this doesn't get fixed ASAP, I would like to use the guarantee as I haven't been getting speeds promised (pointless paying for something not receiving) and leave contract penalty free. I am losing patience and trust and money snd time.
My landline number is updated so u should have no problems running your tests. In the meantime, I will try to call later if I have time to sort this once and for all.
Thanks,
Angela
