Talk Talk poor customer service

$

I have been a customer for a few weeks now and am regretting it already. It's only when things go wrong that you realise what poor customer service a company has and Talk Talk seems to be one of the worst. I'm waiting for an engineer to come out and fit my new phone line. The first time they were scheduled to arrive nobody turned up so we phoned up to reschedule. Again, nobody has turned up but what I don't understand is that when I phone the helpline, I get a message saying that my appointment has been changed to tomorrow. Well, why has nobody let me know that????? Talk Talk has all of my details but I get no information until I phone your 12.5p per minute phone line. I guess It's a good way to make some extra money, giving all of your customers terrible service so that they have to phone to complain! I tried the CHAT but every time it says that my session has expired and I need to start again...

Why can't you just have a button on your website saying, reschedule appointment? Why do I have to phone every time???

TalkTalk Router

Hi

I had an engineer call out to my home over 2 weeks ago to access the low wifi quality throughout the house with TalkTalk.

He mentioned that I needed a new updated router as this was causing the problem. He said he would inform TalkTalk and I should receive a new router in 2-3 days however unfortunately it has been over 2 weeks and I have not received anything or heard from anyone.

Please can you advise

Thanks

How can I cancel my contract? The customer service numbers don't work!

The customer services number listed on talktalk website (0345 172 0042) doesn't work.
I'm being told to call customer services but I'm not told which number I should dial in!

I found a website lisitng more numbers but none of them work. I tried all the numbers listed in the section Full List of TalkTalk Phone Numbers & Online Contact Details.
Every voicemail just tells me to contact customer service without letting me know what number that is.

Sending them a letter is not an option since I'm abroad. How the hell can I talk with TalkTalk to cancel my FibreBroadband?

FIBRE BROADBAND

Hi, my new fibre Broadband went live last night, I was advised by email that a new super router would be sent free of charge, but no sign, and unfortunately I no longer have talktalk tv as the router, a Huawei HG523a doesn't seem to work with fibre, any help/advise gratefully received,

thanks.

Faster Fibre Line Profile.

When I joined Talk Talk about a month ago, I was told that my download speed would be between 60.60Mb an 80 Mb with a guaranteed speed of at least 55.20Mb.

during the initial profiling my connection speed was 65mb and I was getting a typical 60mb download speed, after the initial profiling it dropped to 63mb connection speed and 56 - 58 connection speed

When I was with sky I had a rock solid connection of 70mb with typical download speeds between 65 - 67 Mb

My issue is that Talk Talk has never tested my line at a higher connection speed than 65Mb so have no idea if my line is capable of higher speeds, I spent 1 Hour 40 in chat with a representative who kept saying "I understand" but clearly didn't understand what I was asking, I simply wanted Talk Talk to re-profile my line at least trying for the maximum speed not picking 65Mb and only testing lower, knowing that with Sky is was much higher.

I'm tired of watching adverts from Talk Talk saying we are constantly better than sky without ever actually trying to better them. If after trying for the best possible connection speed it turns out that 65 is the best then I would fully accept that but, at least try for the best ie start at 80mb and work backwards don't just accept mediocrity.

So in simple terms I am requesting that Talk Talk at the very least re-profile my line and try to get the best connection. Do what you say in your adverts, and try to beat the 70mb I was getting with sky and don't just accept the minimum acceptable.

TalkTalk cancelling my account without my knowledge

I’m moving house soon and TalkTalk have sent me a letter saying my account will be closed in October due to me moving and are charging a cancellation fee. However, I’m not moving until November and I’ve not contacted them about the move yet-

How on earth do they know about my move? And why are they cancelling the account without me asking them too?

I was considering continuing with the internet service in my new home but will probably switch if they are going to randomly cancel my account anyway. Ive tried ringing them but the call was cut off and now their system is apparently down, plus the options online relating to moving are also down.

At this rate I’ll have no internet for a month and have to pay over £100 in cancellation fees, what can I do?

Thank you

Openreach engineers were in the L36 area today and cut a wire which has switched everyone’s internet off, Openreach have asked people to contact broadband provider but stated when they were there that it would all be back on in 30 minutes and that was 4 hours ago, can someone help with this at all?

Broadband out of sync

Joined talk talk 3 weeks ago. Brilliant speeds as promised for initial 2 weeks. THEN slowly speeds decreased THEN I lost the ability to connect to the Internet last week forcing me to go into office to work in order to get PAID!!. Eventually got through to customer services and was told an engineer is needed but don't need to be home THEN I am told I need to be home for an engineer. Fast forward to Saturday just gone by. Engineer arrives and about 2 HOURS later my connection is back. His findings were that my router was out of sync and couldn't connect to network. It had nothing to do with my router, power supply, position of router, micro filters, master socket or even the outside wire that was newly installed on live day. The problem was not inside my HOUSE!!!.

Now, fast forward to YESTERDAY. The issue is back AGAIN!!!!. LEFT WITHOUT INTERNET. Forcing me to GO INTO OFFICE DURING RESTRICTIONS to be able to earn my wage to allow me to pay for SERVICE I AM NOT GETTING.

So, out of desperation, I switched router off (then had to leave for work so off 12 hours) and begged friends and family to let me borrow their landline phone so I can check for any noise. Got home from work with a landline phone. Connected this before switching on router. Guess what I found NO NOISE AND NO CRACKING SOUNDS. So switched on router and Internet is back. BUT it didn't last, all night last night the router rotated between solid white for 10 or 20 mins then, blinking Amber for few mins then blinking Amber and white for few minutes more before establishing the connection and going back to solid white. This happened throughout night were I had brief access to the Internet before being disconnected.

Now we are at this MORNING. Wake up and find no internet but this time it never fixed itself. So with my borrowed landline I checked for noise..NONE. then suddenly Internet came back on. I waited half hour with no hope of going back online BUT it connects when I check if I have dial tone??? Really?? Coincidence maybe but it shows a fault with network if checking dial tone puts router back in sync. Sadly.... it didn't last.

Now I am on bus heading to work AGAIN. I barely get time to talk to customer services due to the limited breaks and my working hours so trying to see if some1 will sort it here.

All I want is a stable connection. I want a permanent fix. I dont need a new router as my new router is fine. All my wires are fine. The master socket is fine as brand new. The new line installed is fine as new. Everything is new.

If this doesn't get fixed ASAP, I would like to use the guarantee as I haven't been getting speeds promised (pointless paying for something not receiving) and leave contract penalty free. I am losing patience and trust and money snd time.

My landline number is updated so u should have no problems running your tests. In the meantime, I will try to call later if I have time to sort this once and for all.

Thanks,

Angela

Huawei HG533 router WiFI issue

Hi there!

I seem to be having a problem with TalkTalk Huawei HG533 router.

There is multiple devices in our home: 2 are connected by ethernet cables to router directly and several were connected wirelessly.

Up until recently this setup was operating fine, but now only wired connection is still in working.

There is no internet access on any of the wireless devices. And Windows network diagnostics tool displays "The DNS server isn't responding message" when I try to repair connection.

Can I get an advise on what settings I need to update in router dashboard? (Rebooting doesn't help)

I didn't try factory reset option yet. Hoping it can be avoided )

Many thanks,

Kuzya88

Slow to no Internet and no help

I have been with talk talk for nearly 2 months now and I'm starting to regret it and should have gone to another provider.

Internet was perfect for the first month

Now My Internet has been up and down over the last month, I've had the online chat run through troubleshoot guide I've had them update, restart etc unplugged etc and nothing and then suggest to me to have an engineer visit at a cost of £60 to see what the problem is I'm sorry but my route has been plugged into the same mains socket the engineer installed it into, I'm getting quicker speeds from my mobile provider.

The new line test now suggests home set up is the problem!! How when it's in the same place it always has been? and speed tests are saying 1 to 3 mbps when I'm paying for minimum of 25 poor service

Connecting Non TalkTalk Router (WAN Port Unplugged)

Hello,

I am trying to connect a Tp-Link wr841n router, however, when I've plugged a broadband cable into a WAN port in the router it complains about WAN Port being unplugged.

Firstly I have tried to use Auto Detection mode which was also showing information about "WAN Port being unplugged".  After I have tried to use the PPPoE connection and entered my TalkTalk credentials (landlineNumber@talktalk.net) which also shown the same alert. Lastly, I have tried Dynamic IP connection mode which did the same.

In addition, I have tried to reset a router to factory settings several times which did not help.

Can I kindly ask anyone for help in resolving this issue? Any help would be very appreciated.

Thank you

Kindest regards

Jakub

New Router

How do I go about getting a new router, In the last year my WiFi dropouts have been getting worse and worse to the point that I have to check my phone signal is connected to the WiFi before I use my phone the WiFi now dropouts 10 -50 times a day. The WiFi is totally unreliable not the internet connection. I have had this router for several years now without a problem until now.

1. The router is not near anything electromagnetic.

2. I've reset the router through i.p address.

3. WiFi drops out when nothing else is connected.

4. Router has latest firmware.

and many other solutions have been tried before asking me to go through checks first.

Router is a Huawei HG633 firmware v2.00t

Hi, my internet has been down for a few hours. I have reset the router several time. I can’t run a health check through my phone as It goes to the page but nothing loads. I’m in Clacton essex. Is anyone else having problems?

Internet went live today, plugged in the router but only a slow flashing amber light & no internet

My internet went live today. I plugged the router in, as per the instructions.

It starts on a solid amber light for a couple of seconds, then changes to a fast flashing amber light (I assume trying to connect to the internet) and then changes to a slow flashing amber light which continues indefinitely.

I see from other similar posts this is a common problem, just slightly disappointed that there's no fix or solutions out there.

Guess I'll just have to resort to calling up Customer Servive tomorrow.

UPDATE: It helps if you plug it into the correct BT Openreach socket 😛

VPN and TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub?

Hi.

My kids are being DDoS attacked almost every night thanks to a clown on Xbox Live Gold. I'm having to reboot the router most nights, sometimes multiple times.

I'm considering signing up to Express VPN but I'm so confused if this is compatible with TalkTalk devices. Especially the TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

After a few minutes it comes back by itself.

This happens on PC, laptops, tablets and phones.

it’s much worse when it’s raining.

it seriously impacts Zoom calls and so is critical right now.
