HG633 Disconnects on ps4-streams

$

Hello,

I'm having trouble with my SimplyBroadband with Superpowered Fibre. Router HG633, firmware v1.21t. I get random disconnects from PSN when watching streams. The router keeps restarting when I try to connect any stream devices-not only on PS4. Its random. Sometimes its ok and sometimes not Smiley Mad

Can anyone from OCE help me?

Maybe different firmware should help.

Regards,

Michal

Fibre Speeds

We have recently had fibre installed (payment due out next week). Within two weeks we had a fault on the line, which was fixed, but cut our speed down to under 2 megs for several days. We then had another day last week with the same problem. Now it is down to between 8 and 10 megs (10 megs after a router restart), which is barely faster than the normal broadband speed of just under 8 megs. When it's working properly, we get about 20 megs.

If this is not sorted quickly and reliably I will judge you to have broken your contract and change supplier.

No speed increase since Fibre was activated

I have upgraded to 76Mb fibre on a new 24 month contract. My upstream line rate has increased from 1999 to 9999 kbit/s but my downstream line rate has only increased from 32651 to 32987 kbit/s. My router is HG 635.

What can be done to resolve this?

Hi,just spoke to the live chat which was a waste of time.I contacted customer support to say my internet switches to talktalk today but haven't received my super router or welcome pack.I am now going to be left with no internet later today when my internet switches from sky to talktalk at whatever time today. The adviser said to me they hadn't received a request to send out the router and I should have it by Sunday.Last ime I checked the Royal Mail didn't deliver on a Sunday. Why did I ever decide to move back with talktalk. Can anyone here double check to see my router has now been sent please. Thanks

Stuck in a loop - being told fibre not availalbe

After trying to switch to fibre, and ending up "upgrading" to fast broadband - which is where I started, I'm now being told fibre is not available in my area.  I know it is available, but don't know how to get out of this loop - other than switching supplier, and I'd rather avoid the hassle

OCE only please - Router going down again.

Router started it's games again.  You can see from the time stamp that is it total failure to basic factory settings, i.e date 2010. Messages from system log:

Eratic Faster Fiber speeds

Hello, I've noticed our faster fiber speeds are very eratic over the last few months. They have varied from 34 - 38 mbits download in sept averaged 27 till Jan, then dropped to 22.32 in Jan and are averaging 25 now. We have changed nothing at our end, all test carried out using ookla on the same tablet over wireless. Also as a check on a PC.

Have carried out tests once as per talktalk online instructions and all was OK. Am planning to do it again this weekend as double check.-

Anyone have any other things we can try or look for ? Router is connected directly to the master socket and about 2.5m from where most usage takes place.

 All suggestions greatly appreciated.

Super router problems

Hi, my fibre went live on the 25th January, For the first couple of weeks it ran without a hitch.

However from the 7th February I am seeing 5 or 6 disconnections a day, and occasional drops in wireless connectivity on the 5G channel.

Could this be a faulty router? I changed the microfilter yesterday, but still had 3 disconnects overnight. Router is plugged directly into master socket. I dont have a test socket.

I rebooted the router after the first day of disconnections, but this did nothing.

Prior to fibre my ADSL connection was pretty solid.

Any help appreciated.

Very low guaranteed fibre speed

We are looking to switch from BT after price increase notifications but when we started the process the TT web site came up with a very low guaranteed fibre speed.

We currently get around 30 Mb with BT but TT came up with 8 Mb guaranteed and an expected range of 10 - 20 Mb.

I apreciate these figures cannot be exact but I would be very disapointed if we dropped to 20 Mb after the switch and from what I have read on these forums, once you are connected and find out what speed you are getting the option to cancel is withdrawn.

I have tried the web chat thing but seemed to be having a bit of a comunication problem with the person I was connected to and he asked me several times to confirm our phone number, the TT web site check thing had just used it, so gave up on that.

Is there any way to get some sensible estimates or possibly rengotiate the cancelation period so it runs untill after we are connected?

Slow speed using powerline adapters

I switched over to talktalk fibre yesterday from sky.Due to a mix up talktalk never sent me a router so I am using my sky one which is working fine. The router is plugged into an extension in my sons bedroom where I get 37mb/s on a wired connection and about 25 through wifi.I have powerline adapters from the router to the living room which i am planning on using for my tv box when it arrives but after doing a speed test from the adapter I am only getting 3 mb/s.These adapters are about 8 years old so I am thinking maybe they are not capable of handling fibre broadband.Anyone had issues like this?I have tried plugging the router into the phone extension in the lounge but  the speed I am getting from there is poor so there must be a problem with that.I can't plug the router into the master socket as it is in a cupboard with no electric socket nearby but as I am getting 37mb/s from the bedroom extension speed is not an issue

Fibre Broadband Speed

We pay for the talktalk fibre medium (up to 38mbps) internet connection which we managed to get almost the full 38mbps speed (37.5mbps to be precise) for the first few months of having it, now we seem to only get about 31-33mbps and nothing has changed. The talktalk super router is reporting in its maximum downstream rate (kbit/s) 58452 which is 58mbps, so surely if the router is saying the line is capable of doing that then we should get the full 38mbps, especially when talktalk says "we don't slow your connection down". all speedtests i have done have been on a desktop pc connect via ethernet and with nothing else on the network so should be best case senario. Sounds like i'm being picky on the speed but just doesn't make sense

Older routers will no longer work?

When I changed to the fixed price fibre contract I questioned why I was going to be sent yet another router(I think I have 3 or 4) and was told that any sent pre-Jan 2016 would no longer work.  This is obviously untrue as I am still running with a router older than that and still getting higher speeds than the range Talktalk quote.  So why send a new router and tell me old ones won't work rather than just crediting my account with the cost of the thing(yes I know its free but it does cost you money for no apparent reason)?

Moving account to another house which has existing line & telephone number I want to keep

My TalkTalk contract still has 14 months to run and I will soon move house to an address which already has a telephone and the other people in the house do not want the existing telephone number to change.

Is it possible for me to transfer my TalkTalk Account to the new address without changing the telephone number they already have in that house?

Frequent time out's unstable connection

For the past week I have been experiencing lag spikes whilst gaming. Connection speed and ping are typically good however when performing a ping trace it is clear the router is regularly timing out causing these lag spikes.

For testing purposes I have disabled wifi and removed my network switch and any other devices wired to the router, followed by a ping test with one WIRED device to the router. I repeated this on both my laptop and pc. Both tests were the same, a "Request time out" occuring every 10-20 seconds sometimes less.

I tried/checked the following:

  1. Reset/cycle router
  2. Powered off router over night and retried the following morning
  3. Tried other ethernet cables and different ports on router
  4. Tried a different filter
  5. No interference on my telephone line

Pinging router for 5 minutes 0% packet loss, pinging Wikipedia or Google for 5 minutes 5-10% packet loss.

Can someone please look into this and check there are no faults on my line.

Router keeps resetting every time I use sky go on ps4

Hi,

I'm currently getting the same problem as many others on the talktalk community are with the Hauwei HG633 router. The router is rebooting every 10 minutes or so when streaming Sky Go on the PS4.

Please can someone look at the settings on my line and change the firmware version if possible as I believe that this may be the issue.

If you need any other information please let me know.

Thanks

My fibre broadband speed is not achieving that shown in the contract following a problem with the telephone line. It was about 17Mb/s download and 2Mb/s upload but now it is 13Mb/s and 0.75Mb/s. I have tried the '30 minute off' interval but that has not worked. Ethernet cable shows no improvement over wi-Fi connection. Latency is around 10ms.

Slowing Upgraded Fibre

Dear TalkTalk,

I have just recently renewed my contract, for Fibre Broadband and TV, with a fibre upgrade to best fibre, mainly to help the TV box work. But alas since the Fibre Upgrade, the download has slowed down, seemingly the fibre has gone out of cinque.

Can you take a look please, and connect the fibre boost i should have had on the 3rd Feb. Ive enclosed the SamKnows screenshot to show the download deterioration since the so called boost.

Also having returned my old tv box im still awaiting the recorder replacement.

Best regards, Kingfisher

Fibre Medium Statistics

Hi

I am using a TP Link VR900 router, and my stats are shown below:

 DSL

Line Status:
DSL Modulation Type:
Annex Type:
  Upstream Downstream
Current Rate(kbps)200039970
Max Rate(kbps)2745873075
SNR Margin(dB)25.316.3
Line Attenuation(dB)16.210.7
Errors(pkts)0352

This is fibre medium - 40/20 profile

I know that my line attenuation is good, however the SNR margin is rather high. Is this normal and if not, how do I lower the SNR margin.

Please help as I am not very good with technical stuff.
