Hg633 router, Port forwarding, reboots. admin and general woe.

Hello, does anyone have a fix for my Hg633 router, every morning I have to restart the thing,  a few times a day it completely loses its port forwarding making me unable to access vital things remotely.

The internet still works, but the speed is usually half what it should, it's like something is crashing on the router as I cannot access the admin and have to unplug it to be able to access the router. Everything works fine for a few hours after a power cycle.

Faster Fibre Below Minimum Guaranteed speed

I have a faster fibre contract of upto 38Mbs.  Until recently I was receiving download speeds of 28 to 32Mbs without any dropouts. However since returning from holiday in early October I started to experience dropouts - having to reboot my router to reconnect to the internet and my speed dropped to between13.5 to 14.2Mbs.

I rang support re the drop outs and drop in speed and after a lot of testing I was told my Huawei 633 super router was faulty and was sent a replacement Dlink DSL 3782.  I installed the new router and gave it a few days to see if the speed would improve.  Sadly this has not happened.

The following are the are the current connection stats, taken with the modem connected to the master socket test socket:

IP v4 Stats :

DSL Type:                 VDSL

Cable Status:             Connected

Connection Type:     Dynamic IP

Network Status:        Connected

SNR Margin:                     19.6 dB / 23.7 dB

Line Attenuation:             0.1 dB / 7.2 dB

Output Power:                   -2.3 dbm / -3.0 dbm

My Modem is connected to the master socket. There are no phone extensions in the house.

As you cans from the above my line appear to be at syncing at 14999 mbs for download - nowhere near the 38Mbs I should be receiving, (oddly the upload speed is 5Mbs) and the SNR margin seems high.

I have on a number of occasion, including today, turned my router off for 30 minutes to see if it would reconnect at a higher speed without success.

It would appear that there is a fault on my line, although I do not appear the have any problems with voice.  Can someone check my line and see if this fault can be rectified

Internet slower since upgrading to fibre!

Since upgrading from standard broadband to fibre my download speeds have actually got slower. Prior to upgrading I was averaging download speeds of around 3.5mb, since upgrading to the supposedly faster fibre they have dropped to around 1.8mb. If I plug the router into the test socket I get download speeds of around 16mb, I was happy with that as I was guaranteed a minimum speed of 14.9mb when I purchased the product. Obviously leaving the router plugged into the test socket leaves me unable to use any of the other phone sockets in the house so is obviously not a viable option.

After a confusing conversation with a member of your call centre staff which consisted of over half an hour of them asking me the same question over and over they tried to tell me that it was "normal" to only get a 1.8mb download speed after the upgrade, I post this here in the hope that somebody who actually knows what they are talking about can help sort this problem out.

Fibre speed much slower than guaranteed speed

Hi, I not been with Talk Talk long.

My speeds are slow, to the point it feels like i've gone back 8 years, to the good old dls times.

I'm paying for the top package but getting the basic package speeds. Tell a lie, I would put near Basic to mid package. My account says this:

Minimum guaranteed download speed:

55.9Mb

Download speed range:

63.5Mb - 80Mb

I getting this from talktalk speedtest page :

The speed to your device is 27.2 Mbps and the upload is around 3Mbps.

I sure the upload should be at 20 to 10 Mbps.

I will also post the VDSL connection stats for you to peer your eye on :

I do know the the exchange is not to far away, maybe 1 mile max. and the FTTC street box much, much closer. It could be power profiling, it could be the line, I don't know. Not having a go, but I feel i've been sold a fighter jet and been given a paper plane. :)

Can the forum staff please do their magic and have a play with my line settings please ?
I have all the info in my profile for staff to see the telephone number that I'm on.

Yes, I 've done all the tests. Master socket etc. wired lan.

I thank you in advance.

Low medium fibre speed

I have been having a issue with my fibre speed the speed rangers from 12Mb -19Mb. I have had a new bt box on the outside and a new master socket on the inside of the house installed by Bt engineer, due to a faulty connection and water leaking into the junction box outside, that has been over the last two years. The equipment has been set up by a Bt engineer and I have tried a new router supplied by talk talk still no solution. I have phoned on numerous occasions with talk talk doing line checks, updating firmware, reseting router. The connection speed went up to 24Mb while I was on the phone but just seems to drop back below the acceptable speed of 20Mb that was promised when I signed up to medium fibre. I have been paying for a service that I have not been receiving.

DSL-3782 router: frequent broadband cut-offs

Been with TalkTalk several months, with very few problems.  Over the last month or so, though, there have been frequent cut-outs (dropouts?) of service.

The internet light on the router (DSL-3782) goes out, there's no broadband, and then after a while the internet light shows red, and then green (with broadband connection) 5 minutes or so after that.

Never a problem before, but it's happening once or twice a day now.

Router problem, or a TalkTalk problem?  Is this happening to others?

Hi,

I have recently transferred over to Fiber broadband and recieved a new router, however I have been having connection issues especailly with the PS4 crashing the router and my internet going down. After browsing the forums I noticed there is a firmware update to help resolve this issue.

Is it possible that this could be done?

Thanks in advance.

Why has my internet gone from 72mb to 55mb.

WHY HAS IT DONE THIS, IT WAS FINE UNTIL RECENTLY EVEN THE ROUTER IS SHOWING 55MB.

Replacement router required

Hello,

I have a red power light on my wireless router, which I understand means that it is faulty and needs replacing. I have called the contact number and to no one's surprise had no luck, since the hapless call-centre operative was unable to get past asking me pointless questions which in no way referred to my problem, which is that I HAVE FAULTY WIRELESS MODEM!!!

(By the way, for future reference; the operating system of my smart phone has no bearing on the state of my wireless internet router.)

I have read through many similar topics on this forum and tried all the usual tests, i.e. restarting, resetting etc. nothing works.

I would very much like someone with basic competence to answer my simple question. Can I get a replacement router?

Thank you.

Fibre Speed Boost

How long does it take for the fibre speed boost to become live?

I ask because My Account's "My Package" shows this in "Overview" (at the time of writing this post) :-

"

Faster Fibre

Unlimited, uncapped with speeds up to 38Mb

Tell me more about my speed (this is a link on the "https://www.talktalk.co.uk/my/package" and is blue and underlined, of course)

"

On clicking the link "Tell me more about my speed", I am presented with this:-

EU-referendum-results-1.png

I presume  "Currently Unavailable" being shown on three stats means that the boost is in flux/in transit/en route at the moment?

EDIT: I have powered down the router for an hour (which is >30mins!), no change.

Asus rt-ac1200g+ issue

guys would really appreciate any help on this issue I have.

I recently bought the Asus rt-ac1200g+, to be honest I thought it would be a straight swap of routers(silly me no reading instructions) :) however I see the I can use it as a second slave router, which is fine is it works as I bought it for which is to make use Of The GIGABIT ports as the talktalk router only has 100mb ports.

If I can do this where do I plug the Ethernet as the YouTube tutorials say to plug into the WAN port, again talktalk do not provide this on my 'super router'.

My router make/model is Huawei HG633

Finally the reason I want to avail Of The gigabit ports is to upload to my plex server, and currently I cannot upload due to the slow speeds 1/2mbps.  Whereas gigabit ports can be 50+mbps

Any info on this would be great

Thanks

Hi,

I have had this problem for a while and my 2mbps talktalk router is only giving me 2mbps when I'm promiesd at least 39 on the website which is quite annoying, I've tried connecting with an ethernet cable and I get 2 mbps still. Could anyone please help me with this?

Constantly disconnecting and reconnecting - on PC only.

So this happens entirely at random it seems, but it is frequent.

I connect to the talktalk wifi on my computer - it's working fine until it (seemingly at random) just disconnects from it and 'forgets' the network - meaning every other wifi signal available is still available.

I then have to keep refreshing the wifi connections until the talktalk connection shows up again. No ping fluctuations, no speed fluctuations etc. whatsoever.

I've searched for all the solutions and whatnot everywhere and none of them mention this problem specifically.

Any help?

fibre broadband and wifi keeps disconnecting

Hi,

Over the past few weeks, our broadband connection keeps dropping out. The red light appears on the router and it has to be re-started constantly. This happens very frequently throughout the day and night. Sometimes our wifi does not work whilst the internet light on the router remains green.

We have replaced the microfilters and tested the phone line which appeared ok.

This is now very frustrating with having to constantly reset or restart the router.

Please help. Thank you.

Intermittent broadband service with HG533

We have fibre broadband with an HG533 router and a BT openreach modem.  It has worked reasonably well for a couple of years. Now the service slows down or disappears almost daily. We reboot the router and after a while the service resumes again and up to 22-23 MB, until the next time it stops and the next reboot.

I guess the router is now old and is failing.  Any suggestions?

Firmware upgrade for HG533

Hello, I have an HG533 for fibre.  It has worked well since it was installed few years ago, however now it looses service almost every day.  I reboot it and it then works well for another day or so.

Would a software upgrade help?  How can that be done?

Thanks

Speeds Not as Predicted

Hi

Basically I need to use the HG633 in bridged mode in order to integrate with the existing kit I have.  BT installed a New Line which I've had to move about to suit.  I beleive DLM has activated wrongly on the line due to me moving the line / having to reboot the Talk Talk router a lot.

The hg 633's web interface becomes unavailable in bridged mode and to get into it requires a reboot.

Do you supply HG635's as they go into true modem mode?

How long will DLM take to uplift the line back again ?
