I have the talk talk super router and today it has started to reset itself every 10 minutes. All apart from the power light switch off and then slowly connect again. I have tried resetting the router but no joy. Can anybody help?
Router keeps resetting itself
HG633 firmware update request - 1.22.1t
Hiya,
Could you please update the firmware on our router to the latest 1.22.1t version? Experiencing the same lockups in the web UI as others after a day or two on 1.22.
Many thanks and kind regards,
Heather.
Gaming Profile Request Please!
Hello Talk Talk
I am having high ping doing online gaming where it is 30 which is major high. My download and upload speeds are fine but my ping is not.
Is it possible to look into this and is it possible to get my profile moved to a gaming route?
Thank you.
Help with buffering
So I am about 4 months into my contract and whilst my speeds have never actually been all that great (20down/2.7up), recently when we try to watch twitch, YouTube, Netflix, etc via chromecasts in our home it buffers like crazy, restarting the router makes no difference. Sometimes even watching videos on a wired connection to the desktop computer it is the same.
We also noticed at the very start when we first had talktalk fibre installed, that when we try to upload photos to Facebook, videos to YouTube or files via FTP it totally swamps out our connection making even the simplest of tasks, like browsing impossible as pages won't load. I am not sure if the 2 problems are connected or not but I thought I'd mention it, as this in itself is a pain in the backside.
I've tried all the usual generic requests like testing it in the master socket etc.
Currently using a huawei 633 router with probably stock firmware.
Any ideas that may help?
fibre broadband crap - lucky to get 17mb most days
hi
You sorted my broadband - or rather my connection which was old wiring in house, and I was enjoying download speeds in excess of 40mb, line capable of 51mb. Sometimes achieved 50mb. Of late the ping has been exceptionally high, after a few weeks of settling it was around 11 but now is more like 40 for some reason? Please explain?
I have taken two readings, one from main socket with cover and one through master, both giving similar results.
Can you please address, I was getting 12 to 13mb on standard service and see no reason, why as a valued customer since opal telecom days I should retain your services, I can get a better offer through a mobile offer.
Please advise thanks
Yvonne Andrews
Essential Sim
Does anyone know if the essential sim previously offered free for mobiles is still available on renewal of broadband contracts?
I have the Sim and am due to renew my Fibre Broadband contract. I do not however see any mention of the free sim in the renewal offer.
thanks
Slow connection and constant dropouts
Hi,
i recently changed over from BT to talk talk and frankly have had nothing but trouble since.
We were guaranteed a minimum speed, which was only ever hit for the first few days of service and ever since the connection has been much slower.
the connection speed also often grinds to a halt for a few seconds before starting again - just long enough to disconnect VPNs for example. Secondly watching films or videos is hopeless due to the constant spooling issues.
we never had either of these problems with BT - the connection speed should be the same, but it clearly isn’t, and the connection is defiantly not reliable.
ive reset the router numerous times, tried connecting directly to the master socket, tried different microfilters, nothing of which has made any difference whatsoever. Can the line and/or connection be checked please?
Can't enter router HG635
Hi. I've been a TalkTalk user for a few years and eveything has gone good so far but recently I've been trying to enter the router (HG635) with the username admin and password admin but a message prompts: "Username and Password error. Please check the Caps state. You have 2 attempts remaining." I tried with three different browsers and nothing, cleared cookies, cleared data on Chrome as I read in another post nothing. I attempted a few resets and nothing either. So I think it may be a faulty router issue. Could I get a replacement or get the new HG633?
Thank you.
Am getting EXTREMELY SLOW Fibre broadband speed (!??) for a new TalkTalk Line / User :(
I am getting an intolerable 0.9Mbps (average!!) download speed (and a similar upload speed).
I don't know whether this is because TalkTalk / BTOpenReach took approximately one whole week longer to establish/activate the line?? (Does anyone know if this is par for the course?)
I was a 10-year-long Loyal Customer of Virgin and was convinced (by a Carphone Warehouse salesman) to switch to an 18-month, fixed-price £25 per month TalkTalk Fibre & Phone line.
So far, my experience has NOT been in any way exceptional, nor indeed, acceptable!!
I am, of course, prepared to give TalkTalk the opportunity to remedy the issue, but having to wait 5 minutes for a webpage to respond (and sometimes waiting even longer and/ or even stalling altogether) is NOT what anyone would expect nowadays. (It's no longer 1980's DIAL-UP!!!)
I'm running on a pretty new Windows 10 Acer laptop (which operates fine on all other networks), and am connected by Ethernet cable directly to the Router/Hub, which itself is connected directly to the newly installed (by the BT engineer) phone line wall socket. I have also tried connecting via Wi-Fi, but there is no increase in Download or Upload speeds.
To add insult to injury (so to speak), I've already received my first bill, and it is not for the expected £25 (per month) but it as an additional £0.82p added to it for no reason at all!! Why???
Please, please help rectify/remedy this situation ASAP.
Thanking you in advance.
Router disconnects from internet (red light)
My HG633 router disconnects from the internet (red lnternet light) about 2-3 times per week and can only ever be reconnected by turning the router off then on. I have put up with this for about a year however, I am now frequently not at the same physical location as the router so cannot turn it off and on. This is most frustrating as sometimes I cannot access any of the device's on my network for weeks !!!
Slow speeds and lack of response to fix.
Hi,
Getting frustrated now. Fibre broadband went live on the 21st of Feb and the speeds dropped from 3.3mbs on standard broadband to 2.4mbs on the fibre. Gave it a few days and thenraised the issue. After many hours on the phone with various call centre people testing things, I was advised to monitor it for a few days.
Cut to this Saturday, an advisor calls to see if I am happy and then tries to sell be a £5 boost to help with the issue!! I eventually get the problem escalated to a manager who arranges for a BT openreach visit scheduled for yesterday afternoon. They did not show.
I called this morning to be told I had a visit on the 3rd of March (not true) and they could not answer any more as it is in the managers hands. They say I will get a call back from a manager but don't know when.
This is not acceptable!
I am now considering cancelling the contract and taking my business elsewhere.
I feel like I am being stalled so that the cooling off period expires.
Can someone please let me know what is going on?
I have already lost 1/2 a days pay waiting for an appointment that never happened, not to mention several hours of my time on the phone to your advisors over the last fortnight.
Andy
Internet not available not network shows in available networks
Hi,
I was on holiday over the weekend and the router was unplugged, since getting back I've not had any wifi or ethernet internet connection. All lights on the router are showing apart from the one marked 'internet', also the broadband one is flashing.
So far I have spoken on chat for about 3 hours last night, they checked the connection and said it was ok but still no router working.
I have reset the router, switched on and off, left it off for 30 minutes, confirmed the router make and also the connection to the wall. I'm not sure what else to do and got cut off at 10pm last night after trying to connect to the network and losing my tethered connection. Despite being assured this wouldn't lose the chat window.
Router is a Huawei HG633.
Help would be very welcome as we use internet for all our TV as well as the usual stuff so haven't been able to watch anything.
Thanks
Scott
Fast fibre slowing down
We had an Openreach engineer out and removed very old wiring. Epwe had 37 Mbps download speeds for several weeks. I had to turn the router off for a few minutes recently to change a power line adapter. When turned back on the download speed dropped to 35 Mbps.
i asked for the line to be re-set but have had no response.
Today the DSL has re-booted about two p.m. and the speed has now dropped further. Now showing 32.7 Mbps.
Can you re-set the line so that I get the speed back to at least the Guaranteed minimum speed?
slow speed download and upload speeds
hi I have have been with talk talk for 3 weeks now I have opted for the faster fibre broadband with £5 speed boost, on my ps4 I'm getting slow speeds of 4.2-5.6 download speeds and upload speed has never even reached 4mbps its all ways at 3.2-3.8. the standard speed I'm supposed to get is 40mbps download speed and at least 8 upload speed. the max is should get is 67mbps. I'm using a wired connection. today I have tried using talk talk dns server and Google dns server and open dns server the speeds remain the same it must be the router. the router talk talk sent me I heard can't do gigabit speeds so if it can't is this why I getting these speeds even if it can't it should at least do 8mbps.router is the same room as ps4. why does talk talk give router that don't do gigabit speeds :/
Slow upload
Restart DSL
Router keeps dropping fibre connection
Hi,
I recently have switched from sky to talktalk fibre, and since then i keep getting intermitent fibre connection issues with the connection dropping but the wifi is still active at the time.
Wireless drops out
Hi,
My household has 2 data hungry teenagers plus we watch netflix and use tablets etc ourselves. We have the old style router with the seperate Fibre box and it seems to be playing up recently.
When there are lots of devices attached the wi-fi can drop out but its fine for wired devices (xbox).
We have had the router for a long time, could we have a new super router sent out to try please?
Regards
Paul
Broadband has been dropping about four times a day for years!
I have been a Talktalk customer for a long time. I used to have standard broadband but upgraded to fibre in Nov 16. I have always had the above problem - I have had engineer visits, new master socket, multiple routers. The engineers tell me every time that the speed at the socket is the full ~40MBs. I got around 38 for a while but it is now 28. I have tried changing DNS servers. We are connected direct to the master socket and by ethernet. I do NOT want to talk to another Talktalk Customer Services person ever again - I nearly know the script by heart. Please, please offer me a way to fix this. Windows 10 pc, bang up-to-date. Norton. Chrome. Totally frustrated.
Problem with Modem cutting out
Hi I had my fibre installed on 23rd February I have communicated this problem on fb but they were unable to help due to technical issues.
I am not happy as I have only had this modem GH633 for just over a week and it shuts down every 10 minutes, I can not watch sky on my ps4 or the use the internet as everything goes off. Basically what happens is page stops then modem lights all go off at once and one light comes back on the the red light in comes on and stays like that for about 3 minutes before all lights work again, after 10 minutes of watching something it goes off again. it has been doing this constantly for days. Absolutely impossible to watch anything and by looks of the thread there is issues with these modems with others as well. My modem worked great when it was installed had no issues for the first couple days as was able to watch stuff when i connected my pc but now its a joke.
I am currently as my motehrs who has the basic package from talktalk and her internet puts mine to shame and im paying more.
