This is getting so annoying now, download speeds are half the upload speeds, couple typical examples of many speed tests I have done:
Ping (ms) DL (mbps) Upload
32 2.61 4.88
68 4.06 7.36
112 3.35 6.68
Bearing in mind I used to get around 37mb on 38mb fibre, now TT said they've done all the checks they can, then said they booked engineer visit but; if they could see nothing wrong they're charging me £50.
Strange given none of my sockets, setup etc have changed in several years (except changing from mk2 to mk3 faceplate over a year ago).
How about doing TT over breach of contract (defined using : significantly less than advertised service)?
Hello, so I`ve bought an AP and i need to get into the router settings to set it up. Big fat no. Just the time out message on a browser. I also can`t get the router to reset using a staple in the reset button. Have been holding it for over 30 seconds and still no reset. Help! Arghhh!
Hi I was hoping someone could help. I have a HG635 super router and use a PS4 and Xbox One . With the PS4 I am unable to get my NAT setting to show as Open. I tried some time ago to open port 3074 (for playing Call of Duty WWII) and for a while it seemed to work as my NAT was showing as open. But now all i get is Moderate setting. I have tried re-booting and even restored to factory setting and still cannot get it to change. Ive tried all the suggestion re static IP address and DMZ etc but not working. Im running the older version of firmware 1.06t and wonder if i need to update my firmware but i cannot find the neccisary file to do so. Does anyone have any suggestions as this is driving me crazy trying to connect ot friends who also have a moderate NAT setting.
Thanks.
Hi,
Can you arrange for the firmware to be updated on my router from v1.22 to v2.00 to reduce the number of reloads required?
thanks
Graeme
Could an OCE push the v2.00t firmware to my HG633, please? Currently have v1.22t.
My upgrade to fibre went live today and I noticed WiFi was maxing out at 25Mbps (near 38Mbps over Ethernet, synced at max speed). From various previous posts I can see that this is a known issue with the router, but apparently WiFi performance has been improved in v2.00t. I obviously never noticed such issues with ADSL2+ as my sync speed was 10Mbps. Interference is not the issue.
I have an HG633 Hardware Version H.1.01 - Software Version v1.22t.
I have a Raspberry Pi running as a VPN connected to one of the ethernet port.
I have set Port Forwarding up to forward port 1194 to the IP of the Pi.
I am unable to connect to the PI using any mobile device, Apple or Android, using OpenVPN.
Reading forums it has been suggested that if the IP in the .ovpn file is changed to that of the Pi instead of the WAN IP Address 78.15x.xx.xx and I can connect the issue is with the Port Forwarding. With this change of IP I can connect to the Pi through my home WiFi.
So using such tools as "portchecker.co" I have tested port 1194 and they all give the same result "Port 1194 is Closed".
I am convinced my Port Forwarding rule is correct.
Can anyone offer advice?
Many thanks
Tony
Hi, my router is firmware version 1.06t - is there a later version it can be upgraded to? Thanks
Hi Over the past few weeks I've been having problems with the WiFi connection dropping out evert 30 seconds or so. After looking through the posts it seems that it is a common problem and is easily fixed with a firmware update. Could you please help me with this and let me know how I go about installing an update.
Kind regards
Dave
I usually sync at 79999/20000 but it's been getting worse and worse lately. It's currently synced at 61483/19993 which doesn't seem bad, but my real world download rate has gone down from around 76Mb/s to 3-6Mb/s and my usual ping of 17ms has jumped up to over 60ms. It's usually worse and makes gaming absolute tripe. I can barely use NetFlix just now either.
My LAN is wired gigabit, with only the cable from a gigabit hub to the router being 100Mb. I've tested the network for problems and congestion and changed WAN cable etc.
I'm pretty sure it all started when I signed up for a new contract last week, even before I recieved the super slow DSL-3782 to replace my HG633. I got sick of the firmware bugs and requested a new router while I had the chance. I noticed a slight drop in sync speed a day or 2 after setting up the contract, but once I plugged in the new router, it jumped back up to full speed. Ever since then though, my connection has been getting gradually worse.
Could you check my line for faults and help me get this fixed?
Also can you update my HG633 router firmware? I'm still on 1.22t.
Cheers.
I am leaving TalkTalk and would like a bag to return my router if you want it returned please Could you send me one
Hi,
I reported an issue before Christmas with my fibre package being slow to connect and getting a fair bit of packet loss, with my uplink syncing way below what I was expecting to see compared to my download speed (I was originally getting 70Mbps down and 10Mbps up. By the time I had reported this fault, I was dropping to around 60Mbps down/800Kbps up).
At that time it was identified that I had REIN issues impacting the line, and that a BT engineer would attend, which he did. During that visit the BT engineer fixed a fault at the pole with water ingress and corroded connections for my line, but it didn't fix my fault, at which point he ordered a REIN engineer to attend. This engineer arrived a few days later, confirmed the REIN issue was outside my property, somewhere on the line, and as an added precation, fitted a new faceplate with built in filter (NTE5C Mk2), saying that he would return in around two weeks to check to see if that sorted the issue once DLM had settled the line again. I never heard anything since, but the line speed dropped and settled at 63Mbps down/800Kbps up, but the packet loss reduced a bit, and breaks in streaming disappeared. I was going to report it again in January, but work and home life seriously got in the way, so it's had to wait until I've had a chance to report this all over again, but with a great new addition to the problems.
Currently, I wish to report that I'm still not happy with the upload speed, which has never shifted from 800Kbps up, but that I'm now also not happy with the download speed. Although the router reports that the line sync is 63Mbps, no matter what site I go on to, whether it be to download a file, or whether it's a number of speed test sites, for the last few weeks I cannot get the actual download speed to go past 30Mbps, nor will any download of a game from my Xbox or PS4. I've done a lot of testing with my laptop, with all other devices disconnected, and I can't get past the 30Mbps limit from the link. I know that neither the laptop or ethernet cable is at fault, as I've used both on another cable broadband connection, and they have happily downloaded at over 100Mbps. There is only one phone connected to the NTE5C, no extension cables, and the results are the same, even after disconnecting the phone.
Could you please take a look at this for me, as this is getting to be a constant pain, especially the download speed, as I'm paying for, and had the speeds of at one point, the Fibre Speed Boost/Option 2 package, yet currently only receiving the download speeds of the basic fibre/Option 1 package.
Hi guys.
I’ve been using 3782 but the amount of attacks I started getting recently was insane casing my router to drop connection. Back to HG635 see if it might improve it. Could anyone please update my firmware?
Thank you
Rich
For the past year, every day at a random time my fibre broadband will slow to a crawl (both wired and wifi) and stay that way until the router is rebooted. This instantly fixes the issue but it happens exactly the same way within the next 24 hours of the reboot. We've had technicians out several times who've said the line is working correctly, so I think our router is either faulty or just on its last legs.
Dear Community,
With thanks to Danielle at https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Broadband/VPN-access-DSL3782/m-p/2139876, who has collected all of the examples of VPN issues using the DSL-3782 router, all of which are resolved by talktalk sending the HG633 router, I am experiencing the same problem - connecting to my work VPN means I no longer have access to the internet. Live chat weren't able to help after 2 hours of chatting.
With thanks
Isaac
I have a Huawei 633 router and increasingly frequently, once or twice a week, my devices are unable to connect to it. This occurs whether they are wired or wireless, iOS android or Microsoft. My android devices return "Unable to obtain ip address". It also affects my wired connection to my Talktalk youview box. I have turned it off for 20 minutes as suggested in help but this did not solve the problem for long. If I turn it off and on again the problem is solved for a few days. Do I need a new router?
Hi I have problem with my router HG 633. It shows red power light and there is no internet I have checked by switching it off and by resset it but still the same issue. I have seen the relevant posts and it seems that the router is out of order now and it should be replaced by talk talk team . Please sort out my router issue. My wife works from home and my children’s desperately needs internet. Thanks
