Upgrading firmware
Hi
that was a few hours wasted trying to get onto the forum. Ended up having to reregister as I have been registered for a fair few years as Felix the Cat but this user name falls foul of the no spaces rule. Could someone please delete the spaces or put underscores in their place so I can get back into the account? Anyhow, the reason for posting is that I’m another subscriber that would like to upgrade my router firmware to see if this helps resolve the issues I have with broadband dropping out. Router is a HG633 and I’m on v1.2. I’ve factory reset it and remote management is switched on?
obliged.
No Internet
This morning the green lights on my HG633 router for the broadband and internet are not on, all the rest are green. My phone landline is working fine, I have plugged the microfilter into the master socket but still no internet. I have done a reboot and a reset but that hasnt worked either, so I rang talktalk they have run some tests and say everything is ok but it clearly isnt. Ive borrowed my son in laws talktalk router to see if its a router fault but that does exactly the same. After being on the phone to talktalk for nearly a hour they are sending a bright sparks engineer but not till Wednesday! So no internet till then! Ive replaced the micofilter and the cable between the microfilter and the router but still no internet, so I can only think its a fault outside but why would my landline be ok?? Any help please.
Constant Buffering
No matter what time of the day when I try to watch on demand services it constantly buffers. It’s not even like its only happening at peak times when it’s happening on a Tuesday at 11.30am. I am fed up of programs being ruined because of it, one of my main reasons for having talk talk is to watch shows/films online. I’m genuinely considering changing to a new supplier as soon as I can!

Ps4 sky go crashes router
Whenever I use the internet on via Sky Go on the PS4 it crashes my Talk Talk router. It does it every 5-10 minutes making it highly frustrating to view anything. I've been told that an OCE can assist with the firmware for me? Is that correct?
I have updated my profile for my account and the router is a H633

Replacement router keeps reconnecting to internet.
I had been using a HG635 router but it developed a power supply failure so I received a replacement and it was the Dlink DSL-3782.
firstly the sync speeds are a bit lower than the old hg635 both up and down?
More importantly since I plugged the 3782 in it keeps re syncing to the internet at least once per day. Every day since it’s been plugged in.
I have no similar issues with the HG635.
Is there a problem with the DSL - 3782
i have tried router connected directly to the master socket with the faceplate off. Makes no difference.
Do I need another router?
any help appreciated.

Restricting Access to the XBox on a DSL 3782 Router
Hi
I would like to know if there is a way of restricting access to my son's xbox at certain times using the D Link DSL-3782 Router. I had the HG635 Router before and was able to do it but cannot find a way at the moment. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Lag spikes caused by data collision
Consistent and interuptive drops in data transfer, which causes most online video games and VoIP software to become unusable.
An engineer has already visited and told me theres no problems between me and the exchange. I've tested connections even at the dead of night, whilst i'm using the only active device, so this packet loss isn't from inside the LAN either, so iether i've been lied to or you really arnet good at detecting faults in your network.
I also consulted some support staff from Blizzard, who told me to take a winMTR test whilst connected to their servers to give a wider lens on the problem.
I've also seen how you deal with this problem in the past, by making people waste weeks of their life to send you file after file of traceroutes. I will tell you, this is a real issue, and I dont see why doing this more than once should suffice.
My router model is the DSL-3780, and as far as I know v1.19t firmware is the newest for the device.
Considering i've found no eveidence of you fixing the problem for other users on this kind of issue. Im reserved to beileve you can't explain this. This isn't fun and it's certainly not worth paying for a service that isn't able to do what it advertises
TalkTalk router problem
I have a re-occurring problem.
After 3 or 4 days my internet download speed drops from 50mbs to between 5-10mbs. The upload speed stays at 12-14mbsp.
Every time the solution is a simple re-boot of the router and the speed immediately returns to full capacity but it is becoming a nuisance. Is this likely to be a faulty router?
6mbps down 0.14mbps up on fibre is a joke
getting fluctuating speeds on my line so basicly i cannot do much even browsing the internet is dire!
fttc, bt engineers have reported the line is damaged so many times now and nothing ever gets done about it
speeds fluctuate from 3mbps to 13mbps and the upload never ever gets above the minimum stated speed and is usualy between 0.06 and 0.150mbps, line regularly hangs and all wifi stops working, devices dissconnect ect
this is not an adequate service
Sync Speed 38mb instead of 76mb
I am on the TalkTalk Faster Fibre Package and am estimated to recieve 76mb, however when doing a wired speed test I only recieve 38mb and my downstream line rate is only 38mb too instead of the expected 76mb. Please could this issue be investigated and firmware upgraded if possible.
Intermittent Broadband
Hi, I’ve recently been having issues with my broadband at home with constant disconnections on all of my devices. When I say disconnections I don’t mean with the Wi-Fi, I mean the red light shows on our TalkTalk Router and starts to reconnect to the internet again. Which can take up to five minutes for everything to start working again, it’s very frustrating and inconvenient when this happens. So I have logged into my router using 192.168.1.1 and have found that my downstream and my upstream are rather low for what we used to get when we first had the service. I’m not sure if it’s possible but could I request for a profile change on my line as my maximum upstream is capable of way more than just 8mbps upload, also my download speeds have gone down from being 72mbps to only 63mbps. I know this could be due to a number of factors which I am willing to try and help the situation in any way possible. However before any of these checks are done could I request that I have the latest firmware updated on my router please as I don’t think this has been done in while.
Yours sincerely
Flanagan

Samba Server File Sharing DSL 3782 How To
Hi All,
Thought I'd write this up incase any of you guys are having difficulty with viewing your files connected to the USB port of your TalkTalk DSL 3782, like I did.
Apologies first if this has already been produced, however I have failed to find a working description.
I have a MS Windows 10 laptop and this is how I did it :)
Click on File Explorer
Click on This PC (the one you are using)
Click Computer near the top (next to file)
Click Add a Network location
Click Next
Ensure Custom network location is selected and click next
Then type "\\192.168.1.1\USB" without the quote marks. To find the name of your USB drive login to your router, click USB and then settings - its the NET BIOS name (USB)
Click enter
This now gives you an option to rename your USB if you wish
Click enter
Click Finish and (fingers crossed I havent missed a step) hey presto - network location added.
The network location is now viewable in File Explorer. From here you can create a shortcut (like I have) to appear on your desktop for ease.
I hope you found this useful
Regards
Paul

Fibre at less than 1Mb/s down, not much more up. When it should be, and was, Up to 35Mb/s
I was on Up to 5 Mb untill a short time ago, then I got up to 35Mb. It checked out at that speed at first. But now as I said in the topic, I'm right down to less than 1Mb/s (as tested by speedtest.net)
I have two pc's, both of which suffer from this problem.
I had similar back before I was on Fibre that took over a month to fix (with hours with engineers one of which told me my line was ok to the in house box, in house, hours on the phone) what turned out to be a 5 minute job of a bad connection in the green box at the side of the road.
I do see I am among others with this problem, I hope we all get sorted out quickly

D-Link DSL-3782 Access Control Setup?
Hello,
Can anyone provide and example on how to setup remote access for the DSL-3782 Router.
As per page 50 in the user instructions:-
ACL: Activate
ACL Rule Index:
Activate: ??
Secure IP Address [?.?.?.?] - [?.?.?.?]
Application: ?
Interface: ?
On a early D-Link router (copper cable) - all I had to do was set the port number e.g.8080 etc, and tick a box toactivate the remote access.
Any help welcome.
