Fibre Broadband Regularly Disconnects

My fibre broadband connection (FTTC) has started dropping connection regularly.  The Router reports no broadband and after a minute or two the service comes back.  This is happening many times a day.  I have been through the usual tests - the router is connected to the first main box in the house and we have no telephone extension network connected.  The router has been rebooted several times with no improvement.  The broadband is dropping on a direct wired connection to the router - nothing to do with WiFi.  The router has not been changed or any settings changed.  Could an OCE please check the disconnection stats your end and complete a line check to see.  Last time we had the problem it was overhead lines from the cabinet to the house which are threaded through the trees along the road.  They replaced a cable which fixed it, but this seems to have similar symptoms. VPN connection not working when using Talk Talk Extender

Hi,

I recently moved home and setup the Talk Talk extender with my boradband router and I noticed strange issue with Talk TalkExtender.. earlier Vpn connection to my office network was working fine with router but since I setup the extender my VPN connection stop working, to confirm that the extender is an issue, I switched off the extender and try using VPN with my router and it's start working. please help me to solve this issue.

Fast5364 firmware upgrade request

Hi. 

I now have the new router that was sent to me. (Fast5364)

It is now online.

Present firmware = SG4K10001400t

Any chance of upgrading to whatever is latest release please.

My old router was on SG4K10002600t

Hello

 

I have the wifi hub firmware version SG4K10001400t. I need to assign a static IP to my Doorbird Camera and I understand this can only be done with the upgraded firmware.

I have rebooted my router but it is not picking up the latest version.

 

Please could someone force an update to my hub?

WiFi not working on iPhone

Hi, 

 

I have recently received TalkTalk fibre broadband and have the HG633 router. The WiFi connect and works fine on the laptops. However it will connect but doesn't work on Apple iPhones. I have tried resetting the WiFi and trying different bands to no avail. I have seen that other users have had a similar issue with this particular hub and that a DSL3782 router worked better. Please may I have a DSL3782 router to try?

Dear all,

On 16 September I had an appointment with Openreach engineers to activate my talktalk broadband and phone. The engineers came but did not finish the activation because the access to the street cabinet was blocked by a motorcycle. Then a new appointment has been set to Sep 27. The engineers did not come. The line is still not active. The third appointment is tomorrow on Oct 1. But the engineers did not contact me yet. What if they will not come tomorrow? What to do?

over the past week my broadband is continuously dropping throughout the day and night.

the wifi connection is still active to the router but no internet connection. how can this be fixed asap.

I am trying to get to the bottom of my slow speed - I have talked to numerous people on line (technical help) and I am below the contracted minimum speed of 60.3mbps (all they do is test and confirm this)  - the router has been re-set over 2 weeks back and the set-up has not changed - it has had the orange light on recently - after 15+ years with yourselves the first time I have a problem I am being treated like trash - all I want to do is know what I can do in order to try to fix the issue before I leave as the clock is ticking ie 30 days

 my (saved) link to the supportal and the talktalk speed test don't seem to work.  I'm using ie 11. 

Any ideas. 

I don't seem to be able to copy and paste the links, or anything else for that matter and haven't been able to for a while.

Any views?

Hi all.  Lost phone and internet connection yesterday morning. Phone started working again later in the day. But has now gone off again.  Contacted talk talk chat three times this morning. Chatting to three different people. I carried out all the requested checks up to the point of replacing the faceplate of the openreach mk4 master socket.  At this point all of the chats ended. Could you please look into my loss of service.  Thanks in advance. Smithy

Declining fibre speeds and WIFI issues

Hi,

 

I have been having problems regarding my internet speed as for the past two weeks as my internet has dropped by 10mb (37Mbps to 27Mbps) and is continuing to drop (currently 22Mbps). I'm also having troubles with my router as the wifi drops consistently for a couple of seconds and and on occasions stops working completely until I reset the router. I've tried numerous troubleshooting options (factory reseting the router, unplugging router for 30 mins etc) but none have remedied the issues. Can you please investigate and sort this problem out ASAP as it's such an innovicence, especially since I work from home and have had numerous conference calls disrupted as result of wifi connection issues.

No internet after going live

Hi, my swap to talktalk went live this morning at 10am. I've connected the new router but all I'm getting is a blinking orange light.

 

I've had the email to say my fiber has gone live just after my internet dropped out. My phone has a dialtone and I'm able to ring the landline with my mobile.

 

I work from home and wasn't expecting to be without internet for hours. What should I do?

Connecting printer to WiFi hub

Since connecting to new WiFi hub, my laptop, iPad and phone will not connect to my canon printer. I have followed the printer instructions to connect to WiFi, but not working. Printer will switch on but I can’t print. I can connect to internet on all other devices mentioned above

Initially when I signed up for TalkTalk back in July of this year, I had some issues with access to the internet on my mobile and samsung galaxy tablet. The devices would be connected to WiFi but after some time there would be no internet available.

I had thought that this was perhaps due to inactivity. Each time I had to turn Wifi off and back on on the devices to get access again.

 

Over the last month, I have the same problem now with my main laptop that I use daily for several projects. (Ironically, I have not had the issue on either my mobile or tablet for about 6 weeks now. )

 

After several outages on the laptop today, I plugged in an ethernet cable direct to the router and sure enough after about 20 minutes that also got dropped.

 

In the last week this has now started to affect my Samsung TV. Netflix gets dropped after about 20 minutes. The TV needs to be turned off and on for it to reestablish connection.

 

The tablet and mobile continue to remain functional at this outage times so there isn't an issue with the internet availbility but rather what the router appears to be allowing to be connected.

 

Is this a faulty router, or is there some setting somewhere that I can make in the router to have ALL devices stay alive. My heating system works over wireless so I'd really like to fix this now before the router takes issue with it.

 

Currently I am linked with my laptop to a Wifi hotspot on my 4G mobile network and it has been up for over an hour now so again I'm confident that this is something happening at the router and not within the laptop.

 

How do I open a support ticket with TalkTalk in this regard?

Hi there.

 

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve noticed I’ve been getting lots of connection drops and the WiFi hub is reconnecting at very low download speeds. Currently 5 when I should be getting 40.  Upload is fine at 10.

 

Prior to this the connection was very stable at 40 down and 10 up (FYI I had a lift and shift performed earlier this year. Things had been great since then)

 

Nothing has changed on my side.

 

Would someone at TT be able to check please?

I am relocating to Stoke-on-Trent area for work next week and I am looking to get the Talktalk fibre broandband 67mb (its available according to the postcode checkers)

 

I am wondering has Talktalk improved? I read many bad reviews over the last few years and am a little skeptical.

 

The previous tenant had talktalk, and the prices are good value.

 

Topcashback not tracking at all

Hi, 

 

Ive recently joined talktalk via topcashback. My cashback of £110 has not tracked .

Ive lodged claim via tcb claim team and they advised it'll take approx 4months to get a turn around. I mean I just signed up and it should track at least.

Is there something talktalk can do to atleats check if it shows cashback due to me or if the order came to you guys via the tcb website and I'll get validated. I have 20 days from order date to cancel service is anything.

Completely lost internet

I completely lost internet about 1 hour ago.

After some investigation I realised the problem was on the line (when pressing the button on my phone the dial tone breaks up a little, then cuts off dead after 10-20 seconds.

 

I used the service checker viay mobile phone and the result was "we've detected an issue with your broadband"

 

Please assist in restoring my broadband.
