I had a line fault and the broadband speed dropped from 26 Mbit to 6.7 Mbit after the line was fixed. I spoke to talktalk and the advisor said that this was OK and in the parameters for my line. As a retired telephone engineer I know it is a result of the DSLAM atering its profile to cope with the errors due to the line fault and if they wanted they could reset it but it apears to be to much trouble for them.
