I have medium fibre and my speeds are only 5.5. This is far too slow. Can this be looked i

I have medium fibre broadband and my speed is only 5.5 and is far too slow.  I have put up with this for far too long as when I first received it it was well above 20.  Please can someone look into this for me.  Thank you
