I have an awesome TP-LINK router and an OpenReach modem, and my fibre will be activated next week. TalkTalk have sent me a new router with the modem integrated, but I want to continue using my current router.
I'm using a TD-W8960N router. If i just set the WAN link type to PPPoE, add my PPP username and password (username is <myphonenumber>@talktalk.net), is this all I need, once the fibre is activated? Other people have asked this question before but the answers weren't too clear. The link everyone gives is dead (TP-LINK article 344), but I checked with TP-LINK and they say this is the updated version of the article.
So, essentially I plug the OpenReach modem into my LAN4/WAN port on my router, then go into the router settings, Quick Setup, choose Ethernet WAN and choose PPPoE, with my talktalk broadband username and password. That seems to be it.
I just want to check, is there anything else needing to be configured?
