Intermittent connection and slow speed

Had a problem with the phone line not having a dial tone a week ago. Called TalkTalk to report it after going through the trouble shooting steps on the website. At the same time I mentioned that for the past month the line speed I was getting was significantly lower than the 30-35Mb quoted on joining. A line test by the customer support presumably based in India revealed no problem with the line but 2 tickets were opened, one for each issue and I was promised a resolution with 3 working days. A few hours after calling TalkTalk, the dial tone came back...presumably this was not a result of me reporting the fault as it was a Saturday. A week has passed and the fibre large speeds are no better...in fact it has dropped from 22Mb to 18-19Mb since I called TalkTalk. I've turned off the router for 30 minutes but no improvement in the line rate. Have not heard anything about the speed issue from TalkTalk. Tonight however is the cherry on top with the fibre not working intermittently despite the router showing the internet connect as being fine (even when I go into settings). I need help please...not the first issue I've had with TalkTalk this year and currently at the end of my tether.
