Extremely poor fibre broadband

Dear TalkTalk,

After many years of being a Tiscali customer, pulled across to TalkTalks 'new' networks and putting up with poor connection and poor service I was convinced to try the Fibre upgrade.

I have subsequently received 2 routers, a Huawei HG633 and a D-Link 3782.

The Huawei functions best as a door stop.  Poor range, extremely poor connectivity to the VDSL line and even worse connectivity when more than one WiFi device is connected irrespective of Wifi Band or location.  The router software is a disaster to cherry the top.

The D-Link 3782 functioned well for approximately 1 hour after spending about 2 hours getting the VDSL link stable.  Initial speeds were promising with 20Mbps Down but only 1Mbps up.  SNR was running at about 6Db and the line was relatively stable.

Sadly the router could only hold the sync for about 30 minutes.  The standard Admin login page becomes unavailable to ALL browsers (Firefox, Opera, Edge, Chrome, Safari, Android Browser)  just stating that the IP address is unobtainable. (DNS flushed, caches cleared, :80 added to the end of the login IP etc. etc. etc.), This occurs for both wired connection and wifi connection.  Only a factory reset allowed access.

TR069 disabled, router reset and reboooted, worked for about 8 hours getting progressively slower.  SNR on the way up, data rate on the way down.  Router locked up again, no wifi connections, no Sync, no Broadband.  Reset once again.

I understand that BT monitor the fibre connection and adjust as necessary.  Unfortunately as the routers (both the D-Link and the Huawei) are incapable of holding either their own stablity or a connection for more than a few hours the whole statistics system is a mess and I am currently achieving approximately 5Mbps.  Less than my standard connection.

I have been patient with these devices and the connection in the hope that stability will return but to no avail.  Subsequently I ask that TalkTalk investigate soonest, replace at least the D-Link 3782 with a working model and provide me with AT LEAST the guaranteed minimum speed advertised by the company before I go to OFCOM.

This is sadly only the latest of many, many poor performance issues from the TalkTalk ISP and I will be requesting recompense for my time and lost service over this entire period.

Thank you.
