Fibre Hub DG8041W keeps dropping WiFi connections

I got a new Talktalk fibre hub in September and initially it was working well and giving a far superior WiFi coverage than the old HG533 router. After about 6 weeks, the WiFi started to drop connections to my Alexa devices, 2 android phones and iPhone.  Ethernet connected devices were not affected.  If the hub is left long enough, it will sometimes reconnect the WiFi, but usually I have to turn off the router, wait and then turn it back on.

Running the system stays check never shows up this intermittent fault.  I have tried the  online chat but that failed miserably after 50 minutes after trying to answer totally irrelevant questions and finally having the chat terminated without warning.  When I said I could send a copy of the router log showing the disconnections , she wasn't interested and wanted to send a chargeable engineer to upgrade the WiFi.  It just made no sense.

I have tried a factory reset which made no difference.

I see other people having similar problems are offered a replacement hub to try.

I hope that someone out there can help to resolve the issue in the same way that others with the same problems have been helped.

No internet connection

Hi, my internet connection has dropped and I've tried restarting the router several times. I have also switched it off for several hours but when I switched it back on it was still flashing red. I've also tried the line checker but each time it just refreshes back to the enter mobile number section. What is the next step? I really need it fixing asap as I’m working from home, and have now had no connection since yesterday morning. Thanks

Orange and white flashing lights on replacement router

I had to replace my router and I've got the same type of talk talk router as I did previously

I've just got a constant orange and white flashing light. I've been in and tried changing the settings by logging into the router, but that didn't work.

Nothing has changed with my phone line since Saturday night, when my old router stopped working, although its a very old line. I've since given notice to cancel with talktalk but my services should still be accessible until mid January.

The service tests indicate something wrong with my home set up, but its no different, other than the router.

I've got a teenager who's desperate for Internet access over the holidays.

Fibre boost speed

I recently paid to upgrade the speed on my faster broadband to average speeds of 67 mbps.

I get around 40 if I'm lucky. We have a new socket, a new router and this speed is measured on a laptop connected by ethernet.

It was mentioned on TT livechat that our exchange may not be capable of achieving these higher speeds. Is this true? We are in the S8 area of Sheffield. If not, then why am I not getting somewhere near the 67 promised?

Thanks

Can anyone help me how can I contact with talktalk customer service by phone? Any phone number?

Connect Netgear Orbi mesh wifi router RBR50v2

HI TalkTalk Community

I have a TalkTalk super router HG635

software version is v1.14t

hardware version is G.1.O1

I have recently bought a Netgear Orbi Tri-band RBR50v2 to help resolve the wireless dead zones within the house

What do I have to change either within the TT super router or within the Orbi configuration so that both work all OK.

At the moment, I am getting wifi and wired disconnect errors at least twice-a-day which is unacceptable given my wife and I are both working from home. When this happens, my wireless device says "Connected without internet" and when I browse a web page, I get DNS_PROBE_BAD_CONFIG error message

Do I have to

- put the TT super router in bridged mode ?

- switch off DHCP on the Orbi router ?

- make sure the Orbi router is in AP mode ?

Any suggestions would be great

Thanks

David

Internet service interruption

I have moved to a new place and upgraded to 150mbit from 70mbit in the old place. The talk talk router cannot handle the line and BT put their own modem in, the talk talk router is connected to their modem. Every day there are disruptions in internet service. The led on the BT modem shows no internet. This can be for 5sec or 30min and repeats usually over hours. At other times it runs fine for hours. BT has been out three times and could not find a fault, exchanged their modem, cables etc. They suggested I get a talk talk router that can serve the line itself. The talk talk support will just send another BT engineer. How can I get this resolved?

I type this from mobile broadband, because internet is unusable at the moment. Every minute disconnected.

Fibre v Landline

TalkTalk are offering me full FTTP fibre, but I would have to forfeit my landline. But Giganet are also offering me full FTTP fibre, and with them I can keep using my landline number (see their website). My landline (even in virtual form) is important to me. When are TalkTalk planning to offer home phone options for their full fibre like Giganet?

Hi,

My router keeps randomly freezing and I have to wait a couple of minutes before I'm able to turn the router back on, any ideas how I can solve this as? I have already had an engineer out who changed the socket and have done a factory reset but it still continues to freeze. The router is sagemcom.

Thank you

Slow Unresponsive TV Box Brand New

Hi very disapointed today to be joining Talk Talk / Broadband recieving a very unresponsive slow and poor pefroming TV Box.

- There are between 2-3 second delays when using the remote and getting a response

- Slow sluggish loading times between apps / loading and general response

- Poor response times on Apps

I have moved from a much quicker responsive sky box, to something that feels outdated by a number of years in terms of performance. Running this on a Raspberry PI would probably be better performing.......

I have already tried the following suggestion http://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Community-Help-Articles-beta/Huawei-YouView-Maintenance-Mode/ta-p/1429347

This made no difference at all, the TV Box feels outdated and performance is terrible.

Is there anything that Talk Talk offers that gives their customers something thats deserving of 2020 technology?

Very disapointed.........

Sam

Hi All,

I'm having issues with my cloud calling system and like to know if 'SIP ALG' is disabled on this firmware TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub version SG4K10002816t?.

Router: SageMCOM

Device Version: FAST 5364-3. T8

There is no option to disable 'SIP ALG' in TALK TALK router dashboard, the option used be on older routers for e.g.
HG-633 and or HG-635 router.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

TP-LINK TL-WR940N and Router missing

Hi, I have just got fiber 65 in my house and I still don't have my router yet. The router was meant to arrive this week before the internet went live. I was told on phone the router was sent to wrong house and phone cut off before I could ask for new router. Can I get re-delivery for the router and can I use non- Talktalk router (TP-LINK TL-WR940N) to connect to internet for the meanwhile?

Broadband securities

My mother recently swapped from Sky to TalkTalk broadband and everything was fine but after a couple of weeks she could no longer pick up wifi on her desktop PC. All her various tablets and mobile phone still connect fine but when trying to connect to the desktop the following message appears: "view your wireless security settings to verify that the correct security type is selected"

I contacted TalkTalk who talked me through changing the settings on the modem but it made no difference. They then said it could be due to the age of the PC but I don't see how that could be the case when it worked fine for the first two weeks.

I've now moved the PC adjacent to the router so I can plug a cable direct from the router to the tower and it works fine. Prior to that the PC was approx 15mtrs away in another room but in line of sight of the modem.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Slow broadband speed on devices

Hi,

We’ve had regular poor performance on speed tests for some time now. We’ve just upgraded to fibre 65 to see if that would resolve things, but we’re still getting poor speeds to our devices - 35 mb download and just 6 mb upload and it’s about two weeks since the upgrade.

The Talktalk tests all say that the speed to the router is fine, but the speed to devices mean that performance is so poor that Teams and FaceTime calls are regularly unworkable.

please can it be fixed?

Can't connect since switching to fibre

About a week ago I switched to fibre in Earlsdon, Coventry. I have the same router but there is now a new security key, and for some reason upon entering what I think is the password, it tries to open passwordhelper.talktalk.net, which then fails. Because of this I am locked out of the network.

Any ideas?
