ERROR_NO_CARRIER - Intermitten Sync Error NO INTERNET

Good morning,

Firstly if you are not tech savvy please dont help me, ive had 3 hours of Asian 'tech support' staff asking me questions like "is your computer switched on". Eventually i pointed out that even if I go out a buy a NEW laptop/phone/TV/PS4 etc. it will not turn the RED internet light Green on the router because its a Router/TalkTalk Issue not a WIFI one. Im not a muppet and work in IT, so have quickly ruled out all the obvious issues.

Now we have that out of the way...

I was previously a BT Fibre customer for 2 years without any issues. Yesterday I switched over to TalkTalk and the service does not work. Something has clearly gone wrong during the switch over, may not be TalkTalk's fault but something still is wrong.

I have a Huawei HG633 router.

I have tried:

-Different devices to connect (makes no difference).

-Resetting the Router (still red internet light).

-Checked the phone line for crackling (its fine).

-Changing the filter (no effect).

-Changing the phone cable (no effect).

-Changing the phone socket used (no effect).

Router is ON and wireless works but the Internet light is Red (for the most part). The broadband light goes green and then the internet, after 2 seconds the internet light goes red.

Logging on to the Router and reviewing the maintenance logs revelled this:

09:37:28 21/02/2017 System Notice DSL connection is active.
09:37:06 21/02/2017 System Notice WAN connection INTERNET_TR069_R_VID_101:IPv4 disconnected.(ERROR_NO_CARRIER)
09:37:06 21/02/2017 System Notice DSL connection is inactive.
09:37:01 21/02/2017 User Level Notice CWMP:Cwmp post inform success.
09:37:01 21/02/2017 User Level Notice CWMP or STUN parameter be changed.
09:37:01 21/02/2017 User Level Notice CWMP inform message: parameter change.
09:37:01 21/02/2017 User Level Notice CWMP inform message: event: 4 VALUE CHANGE.
09:36:52 21/02/2017 User Level Notice CWMP:Cwmp post inform failed.
09:36:52 21/02/2017 User Level Notice CWMP inform message: parameter change.
09:36:52 21/02/2017 User Level Notice CWMP inform message: event: 4 VALUE CHANGE.
09:36:46 21/02/2017 System Notice WAN connection INTERNET_TR069_R_VID_101:IPv4 connected.
09:36:36 21/02/2017 User Level Notice CWMP:Cwmp post inform failed.
09:36:16 21/02/2017 System Notice DSL connection is active.

This confirms the phone line is ok and my devices. It is either a faulty router (unlikely), or an error with the change over of broadband provider (most likely). As the internet worked perfectly before the carrier change over it is unlikely to be a local issue with my phoneline/cabelling.

Please can someone at TalkTalk:

-Check with the set-up team that my account was pulled over from BT and set-up correctly.

-Check with OpenReach that the phoneline's broadband carrier was pulled over correctly.

Thanks,

Simon

Just downloaded broadband speed tests Okla from the period of just before installation of fibre to the present.

Notice before fibre the speed was on the 19/10/16, 6.3Mps

On the day of installation we managed  20/10/16, 37.4Mps.

Over the months the speed has slowly dropped 16/2/17, 17.9Mps.

The latest speed on wired direct connection via router 21/2/17 , 27Mps.

This also varies from 18Mps but never achieves the original 37Mps.

I've tried all the tricks, direct into socket, changing channels in the router, splitting

2.4 and 5.Reset router. All make no difference whats so ever.

I began in September 2006 with Talktalk. so you'd have thought I'd learnt by now.

However now stuck in an 18mth contract with Talktalk.

 Hi,

Below are the current stats my router is showing.  I have highlighed in red the value that I believe is at error.

For the package that  I have, this should show as 80000, and historically it has done so - so why the change to an artificially low cap on my line.

Can you look at this please and let me know what is going on.

new customer, but fibre speeds are plodding along between 16-20mb

Hello! My talktalk fibre broadband was turned on this morning from a sky ADSL connection.

For years my sky connection has been rock solid.

This morning my line and services transferred to TalkTalk as promised.

However a wired connection connects between 18-20MB

Wireless connects between 16-20MB

I was told as soon as i switched my maximum fibre speed would be there and slowly lowered until a stable connection is found.

My old service went off, new router plugged in. Internet connected and router sync.

I am paying for the fastest fibre package. Plodding along at standard ADSL speeds at the moment. Its not slowing down or speeded up its remaining rock solid...

will the speed increase over the next 24 hours?

Hi

Hope you can Help ?

I would like to come back to TT but it appears that you cannot help me.

I had FTTP installed by BT, who are absolute rubbish, I have been given an oppertunity because of their price hikes to get out of the contract but It appears that TT do not provide fibre in my area and are only offering me copper.  Surely this cant be right, I have all the FTTP line etc, etc.

Is there any way of getting fibre through TT?

Connection keeps dropping. Noise on phone line.

Good afternoon.

Can someone take a look at my connection again please. Router has been rebooted, connections checked. Drops in and out when we're connected in the evening at least 2-3 times between 1900hrs - 0000hrs. You can hear 'dial up' type noise on the phone handset when the router is connected. It is through a built in BT socket filter, the type with the phone socket at the bottom and the router socket at the top. Any help greatly appreciated.

Large Fibre Speed Issues

I have recently taken up the Large Fibre boost to see how the increased speed will improve my connection, which was near maximum and very steady on Medium.

So far I have seen a major increase in upload speed, averaging 19-21mbs, but absolutely no improvement in download speeds, apart form the occasional 0.5mbs increase. This wasnt was I has expecting.

The fibre cabinet is extremely close by so always tend to get maximum speed, at a guess about 50 to 100 metres away so little chance that the copper feed in causing much lose at all.

I have pluged into the master socket and ran all the usual tests.

I am now looking to cancel the boost if I cannot benefit from this or is the something that perhaps talktalk can look into without having to spends hours on the phone talking to someone in india.

THanks

Kevin

Large Fibre Issues with Poor Download Spped

$

I have recently added a large fibre boost. I have had an almost maximum increase in upload, averaging 19.5mbps but download speed hasnt really increased from my medium fibre averaging around 37mbps.

Living close to the street cabinet, about 100-150 metres, I tend to get very close to the maximum speeds but am very disappointed with the failure in not getting any increase with download speed.

I have carried tests using the master sockets and plugging direct to the router and it makes absolutely no difference. Whilst I know its going to take some days for the line to sync the fact that there isnt any increase of download speed is of concern and unless talktalk can sort this I will be cancelling the boast after the 30 day period.

Such a shame when getting such a good upload speed.

Fibre speeds

Hi

ive just moved from Plusnet Fibre to Talktalk Fibre. On Plusnet I was getting 74mb. I'm now getting around 8 - 12mb.

Im concerned as any time Fibre has been added to line on other provider, the service kicked in almost instantly at the highest speed.

I was very very clear with Talktalk before I moved and was told my line speed would be the same as my last provider as the line will be the same and there is no change which would affect it.

Could someone have a look at this please. I've added my number etc to the profile.

Thanks

Rob

Is there ANY way to switch from interleaved to fast?

Hey, I value low ping more than higher download speed so previously I would ask to have my interleaved setting switched over to fast, but since this 'DLM' I've been stuck on interleaved and don't understand why...

Is the HG633 up to the job?

Moved to Talk Talk fibre yesterday as they (TalkTalk) convinced me I would get a better service than BT. Really pleased with the download speed on a wired connection (over 70Mbps) but less than 22MBPS over Wifi (2m away, line of sight). This is after spending almost 2 hours on the phone with TalkTalk; 1. convincing them it was not a line fault when wired speed is good and 2. them then trying to change different channel settings on the HG633 - which did improve things from a lowe speed of less than 14Mbps.

With BT Inifinity, I was getting in excess of 35Mbps when I ran tests the day before the service was changed. So, my question is, is the HG633 really for for purpose? I have been sold a fast service - which I get on a wired connection - but as I mostly work on Wifi, my service is now worse than BT but at a higher rental! I am wondering if I can challenge TalkTalk on a misleading sale!!

New to Talk Talk - Speed lower then expected

Good morning,

I re-joined TalkTalk from BT (and Sky before that) yesterday.

I was getting 18 Mbps D/L with both BT & Sky consistantly.  So far the max I am getting with talkTalk is 12 Mbps D/L.

Is the download speed likely to increase in the next few days?

Thanks for your assistance

Fiber connection disconnects then reconnects for the past 2 days sometimes its every few minutes then a few times and hour then back to every few minutes, Talk Talk has ran checks on line, equipment and say theres either no issues or they have fixed the issues then cant seem to make there mind up which. http://downdetector.co.uk/problems/talktalk reports a lot of people from the FY1 area where i am from are having the same problem.

Hi everyone, as it was a struggle to find any information online on how to configure your static external ip's that you get with TalkTalk Business Fiber.  Please see the link below for a guide on how I did it.  Turned out to be pretty simple.

New customer speeds dropping

$

Hi, I moved from Plusnet FTTC to TalkTalk a couple of weeks ago. Before the switch, I monitored my plusnet speeds carefully, and was getting a consistant 37Mb download speed and a 1.8Mb upload.

These numbers remained the same after switchover so I was a happy bunny.

However, I have noticed over the ast few days, my connection drops at least once per day and my line stats are going down, Yesterday, the line reset at 07:30 and the speed dropped from 37mB to 32Mb. This morning the line dropped again and the speed dropped too 30Mb. My router ( the one you supplied ) now shows the line sync as 1294/32460 Kbps where as previously it was showing a download sync of 40000.

I know this is not a huge decrease in speed, but I am concerned that the trend is steadily down. Is there a problem with my line or router. If there is another reset tomorrow, then I may go back and try my openreach modem to see if that is anu better.
