Good evening all I am hoping you can help. Over the past 3 months I have consistently had issues with my xbox and no other device in the home 80% of the time this relates to Teredo. I have set up a static IP address and manually assigned a port on my router for my xbox, I have then made sure uPnP is enabled and my xbox still does not stay connected for more than 10 minutes, and at times when it does my latency is above 1100 and my download speed is 0.67mbs when I am meant to have 80mbs, even on good days it only fluctuates from 25-40mbs, also it never connects to the 5GHz just the 2.4GHz. When I added a dedicated port it actually made this slower and my xbox under devices has 7 ports open and I cannot delete these, would being able to remove this make this better? I also have DMZ deactivated and my router is a Talk Talk wifi hub, the one with the orange spotted grill. I really hope someone can help because I am paying for services I cannot access just on my Xbox One.

Slow fibre Speed
Hi all,
The usual slow fibre speeds. Usually get around 76mb but it has dropped to as low as 8mb.
I'm connected to the test socket, I've left my router off overnight (27th to 28th) to reset DLM.
Openreach intermittent bad line 3years plus!
Hi guys
A bit of my TT recent history.....
I actually think it went back even further, but I’ll start here.
2016 Openreach crackly line saga....
2017/2018 same again. Multiple Openreach visits no phone for 3wks!
2018 May to August. Multiple call outs, intermittently crackly line, dropouts and finally TT CEO office intervention......
Things seemed to finally be fixed, so as a treat to celebrate, I then upgraded myself to FTC.
Well guess what, it’s now happening all over again! Same old. Intermittent crackly line heard (and audio recorded) at the test socket with nothing else connected. I am totally sick of it all. Openreach and their totally unfit for purpose old decaying (maybe aluminium?) wires. I’ve probably enjoyed about 8 months of good service since the last Openreach fest here! Then router started dropping again randomly. It took me a while to verify the phone was crackling as it was very intermittent and I rarely ever use the phone these days. I only pick it up to listen for noise after a router drop. Then to add insult to injury, due to the frequent dropouts, the DLM keeps knocking me back to 10mbps (usually circa 26mbps). Ok I know it’s meant to do that.
Heck, I’m only 300 metres from the exchange! (My nearest FTC enabled cab is right outside the exchange unfortunately) How hard can it be? I so wish they would put a Fibre enabled cab right in our estate. Is there any way I can canvas for that somehow?
So please can a *real* OCE take this on please and let’s play the same ludicrous game all over again. Yes I accept possible charges etc etc etc ad infinitum. My availability is anytime providing I am given a specific date AM/PM
Or should I go directly back to the CEO's office again? I prefer not to in the first instance.
Please send the correct “type” of Openreach engineer, who is capable/equipped/qualified for working on our underground wires etc. Several times before, the wrong ones have come and have had to rearrange the visit!
Sorry if I sound a bit angry! Well I am but not at TT or you OCE guys who I respect fully. I just really wish I could get a reliable broadband service!
No doubt out they’ll come, test the line, and say “We’ll it seems ok and within our normal parameters”. They’ll ask have I tried another router etc etc!! Then after they leave, it will crackle and drop again. Seen it all before, far too many times!
Cheers
Peter
Wifi-Hub Firewall not clear
The setting low/med/high seems useless.
I've tested all the 3 options. With HIGH it says
WAN->LAN: Block All
LAN->WAN:
Allow all below
- HTTP
- HTTPS
- FTP
- FTP-DATA
- DNS
- TELNET
- SSH
- IMAP
- IMAPS
- POP3
- POP3S
- SMTP
- SSMTP
- NNTP
- NTP
- SMTP-AUTH
- IPSEC
- ICMP
- TRACEROUTE
- Video2Protect
We are talking about ports, right? So when it says SSH it means 22 only, right?
But I've tried an ssh connection on a non-standard port and it's not blocked.
I've tested a forwarded port and that's open (if the firewall blocks all WAN->LAN even a forwarded port should be stealth... no? However this is not of much importance to me).
Other flip of the coin
I've set the firewall on LOW and scanning all the ports from WAN->LAN reports that it's all stealth.
The forwarded port open (as expected)
Conclusion
I don't get the purpose of this firewall since any level is exactly the same. Whether I set LOW or HIGH it's all closed/stealth WAN->LAN (unless I forward a port) and all allowed LAN->WAN.
That's 100% fine to me, however the 3 options are useless, so it must be a bug.
Maybe it requires a restart of the router? In such case the bug is the lack of a message "This setting requires a reboot of the router".
OpenReach Fault Repair--Where is it????
I got myself connected to TalkTalk fibre on 15 Aug. The OpenReach engineer who came to complete the connection knocked on our door and talked to my wife. He told her that there was a utility strike on our line, somewhere in the footpath opposite our house. He said our service would be slow and intermittent. We wouldn't be getting the fibre service that we paid for but they would fix it. 2 days later a different engineer comes out to complete further diagnostics on the line. He also speaks to my wife and tells her that our case for a new connection would be closed, but a new one for a repair would be raised. They should be out the following week to complete it.
2 weeks later and no Open Reach engineers have been out. Our new fibre connection (complete with 18 month contract) is nearly unusable. We can't use Youtube, Netflix, Amazon prime, games and even basic web pages are very slow to load and frequently time out. I've tried contacting TalkTalk customer service on 2 different occasions and they either refused to listen to accept that OpenReach advised us of a fault or just couldn't be bothered calling them to find out when they'll be by to repair the line. I was given a number to contact OpenReach myself, but they will only speak to internet service providers and not private home owners.
I'm now paying for fibre but getting the service of dial up. I know there is a fault but can't get an update on what's happening. C'mon TalkTalk......help a customer out here.
Slow fibre sync speed
Hi.
My fibre sync speed has dropped from an acceptable 32Mb/s down to 22Mb/s in the last week or so. Doing a Talktalk service status gives the following advice:
Your broadband connection could be improved
Our health check on your service shows that your speed to your router could be improved.
Your Estimated Speeds: 39 Mb - 40 Mb. Your Actual Speed: 23 Mb.
I have tried a different router (Dlink DSL-3782), and this gives the same speed as the HG633.
Please advise.
Double NAT - how to solve?
Hi,
I have a TalkTalk WiFi Hub on Fibre Broadband (FAST5364 3.00 SG4K10002600t).
To solve the problem of WiFi blackspots in my house, I've been using it with the WiFi network turned off, my intention being to use it only as a *modem*.
I have a separate Whole Home Mesh WiFi System (the Nova MW6) which acts as the WiFi router - basically there are three cube-like units, the first plugs into the TalkTalk modem via Ethernet, and then it broadcasts the internet to the other two units positioned elsewhere in the home. The Tenda set up also allows Guest Networks and other useful features.
This set up has worked perfectly for months.
However, I noticed today that my Xbox is reporting I have "Double NAT", so I am wondering whether I should do something to resolve this... or leave things be!
My understanding is it means both the TalkTalk modem and the Tenda Nova are trying to do NAT, whereas only one should.
As I want the Tenda Nova WiFi router to be doing the NAT, I need to change something in the advanced settings of the TalkTalk modem to tell it to handover NAT duties to the Tenda Nova.
This is sometimes called Bridge Mode, or Modem Only Mode, but I cannot see those options in the TalkTalk modem.
Has anybody got any suggestions of where to look, or what to change, so that the TalkTalk modem can hand off NAT duties to my Tenda Nova?
Thanks!
No internet Wifi Hub fibre 150
Hello,
Last week receive new Wifi Hub router (sagem 5364). while waiting for engineer to come over to set up my faster fibre i connected to my line and everything was fine.
This morning engineer connected me outside. he come to my flat to check is working but my Wifi Hub is not syncing to broadband. He tried to bypass it with openreach huavei mt922 modem but it doesn't work either. It is only working if i am connected straight from dsl line to this modem over lan cable to my pc. but modem doesnt have wifi so it not resolve my problem.
I was trying to get help with talktalk chat but support after some checks didnt know what is wrong. Apparently i will get new router (the same wifi hub i have at the moment hehe) in 2 days but i am sure if it is not working now how it will works with new one...
Any ideas what could be wrong? iv changed some settings, changed dns but nothing works.
Also one problem, i cant connect to admin panel to this MT992 modem to change dns settings. couse now i cant connect to my vpn network or any web hostings 😕

1) The post "Wifi-Hub Firewall not clear" is not spam, it's a bug report... that has exposes another bug that I'm reporting here 😊
2) I've received the email (quoted above) saying

Actually there isn't anything to click. I've checked the source code of the email and the only links are the "manage your private message option" and the unsubscribe link.
Half guaranteed speed and phonecall from TT was rude
Although I've been on the Faster Fibre package for nearly a year, I'm consistently getting around 15mbps or below download speed, not the promised 35+.
How do we get something done about this mess?
Today I received an unsolicited call from TalkTalk informing me that they know about my poor speed (how do they know this and yet continue charging me for Fibre?) and that an engineer will need to come into my home to change my phone cables to fiber. Why has it taken so long for something to be done? The call centre man said he wants to conduct tests on my computer and asked about the devices I use and wanted to book the engineer visit for tomorrow, today!
As it's too short notice I had to cancel, and I didn't have time or like the sound of conducting computer tests over the phone (after hearing about all the scams).
Can someone help with this whole mess, please?
The man on the phone was very pushy and rude, asking all kinds of personal questions which I didn't feel he needed to know.
faster fibre
Hi could an OCE check to see if my fast fibre has been activated as i have noticed no increase in my speed, it was started on the 15th of this month thanks.
Trying to use router as second router
Followed multiple guides to use a router as second router and can’t get it to work, turned off dhcp on second router
changed the up address
don’t know if I need to set as static ip or dhcp, even though that shouldn’t matter as it’s turned off right ?
Faster Fibre Set Up
I renewed my package today to include Fast Fibre due to being advised that my existing Broadband speed could not accommodate a SkySports package. Does anyone know how long it takes to kick in? I was advised by Talk Talk that it takes 3 months : ( which seems a little long!
Tech Help with TT Routers (HG635 & FAST5364?)
Hi guys
I'm after a bit of info on the router options with TT fibre.
A bit of background...
I used to be a TT customer and was very happy. I upgraded my Sky package and was told at the time I had to switch to Sky fibre (I've since found out that was a lie but had no way too prove it was said to me). Anyway not only is Sky fibre a bit rubbish but the Q router lacks functionality and if you want to connect via wi-fi you had better hope that your walls are cigarette paper thin or get used to some serious buffering. I'm finally out of contract with Sky so intend switching back.
Now I have spoken to the TT sales guys about this but they don't have the answers (even to the point of giving conflicting advice on what router is issued with what plan). I don't have a problem with that as they are sales guys not tech guys. Hence why I'm after some user experience.
So as far as I can see the router options are the HG 635 or the FAST 5364.
And the questions are:
- Are they the only two router options? If not the questions below apply to any other options.
- How does the wi-fi coverage of the two compare? I know the 635 wi-fi range is ok for us but I think the 5364 uses a mesh system as does the Sky router I have. The Sky router struggles to connect to a PC that is immediately behind it although the other side of a 50 mm plasterboard wall so I'm a little concerned that it's a technology thing (mesh system) that's causing the issue.
- Can I set static IP addresses on the 5364? Again I think I could do this on the 635 (possibly through a hidden menu but can't remember now). I don't mean lease length here.
- Does the 5364 have a hidden parental control page like the HG635? I'd like to be able to restrict access time for specific devices at specific times (not the same times). I'm pretty sure the 635 can do this but can the 5364? Incidentally I can't do this on the Sky router as whilst I can set multiple rules to block different IP addresses I can't set multiple time schedules so whatever rules I set by schedule they all happen at the same time.
- From what I've read the 5364 has 3 firewall pre-sets. Can I set different pre-sets for different devices? Can custom settings be applied and if not how practical are the pre-sets? We have very different users at home, both security savvy/ non savvy. Can I block specific sites, ideally by device?
- I appreciate I may be after a better spec'd router than any ISP would provide for free so are there any other 3rd party options that would be better (budget £ 100 - £ 150).
Just so you know I'm not concerned about the up and down speed (I'm NOT looking at the 11 Mb option though) as I'm FTTC and I know whatever plan I get I'm only going to get 35-40 Mb due to the copper between the cabinet and our home.
Finally, thanks for all and any advice that is given.
Fritz
Admins, I hope I've posted this in the right section but if not please feel free to move as appropriate.

Rubbish TalkTalk Broadband
Broadband keeps dropping. Chat claim they are open 08:00 - 22:00, they are not. Anyone know a better way of getting technical support? TalkTalk are by far the worst network service provider. Any tips on a better provider would be appreciated.
Thanks
