I have recently migrated to talktalk but i am experiencing poor wifi download speeds. I have the super router and have noted a number of email threads on the poor performance of this route . I've  checked my wireless logs and i have a large number of errors. Could someone push the latest firmware upgrade to my router.

Myself and 3 other customers in this area are having dropped fibre speeds, 3 of us who where getting 35+are now struggling to achieve 20. And yes we've all done the usual...
Test socket...
Rebooted router...
Tried wireless and wired...
Jumped around on the left foot whilst shaking a pink cows left ear.
So problem is definitely with the Talktalk equipment.
Oh area code DE4 4JA

One week after 'go live' my fibre speed has dropped from 37 to 25mbps. Why is this?

Speed started at a splendid 37.5 (nearly at 40 max) and has been sinking ever since.  What can be done?

Fibre speed droped.

Hello again,

I have noticed over the past few months my speed has decreased, It has gone from 37 Meg to 25 - 29 Meg. I noticed it was taking a longer time last night to download a program, so i did a speed check  this morning and it was 15.2 Meg a bit slow for fibre. I had a BT engineer out last year to fix the junction box outside house and setup the fibre equipment all working fine, upon drilling through the wall he drilled straight through the sand stone window sill and damaged it by putting a big hole in the sill. I just want to know whats going on with Talk Talk, it seems to be one thing after another. I am just fed up with having to complain and constantly keep writing Emails and calling the call centre. all i want is a reliable service.

DNS server and HG633

I've just received my HG633 router for fibre (go live date next Tuesday). Currently working fine on ADSL, and I'm learning my way around it.

But one thing that should be obvious I couldn't see.

How do I set the DNS server to (say) Google's instead of TalkTalk? The obvious place is under Internet Connection where these DNS servers are specified and there is actually an Edit button. But clicking the button doesn't seem to give a place to edit these details.

Hi

I had to do a factory reset on my TP LINK Vr900 VDSL router today, and I need to know what the standard Talktalk settings are for me to configure the router.  things like what format is the username is it phone number @talktalk.net ?  snd other settings like ppoe etc... and any other numbers that need to be added.

I think its  a dynamic ip address I'm on superfast fibre the top one.

I spoke to some NUMPTY in the Indian call centre that was as much help as a chocolate teapot, so was wondering if anyone can help me please

My switch from Simply Broadband to Fibre Medium is a total failure

Hi there,

Recently I upgraded from Simply Broadband to Fibre Medium. The day which the change was supposed to take effect was yesterday 2nd of March. Instead, since yesterday around 12:00 Internet signal is totally gone. The 'Broadband' light on the Huawei HG633 VDSL2 router is always off. The same with the old ADSL2+ HG533 router, the ADSL light is flashing forever. Internet was working with no problem 10 hours earlier.

I have not had the chance to check the telephone with a landline phone. But this looks like something went wrong on the telephone exchange.

Could you please solve this as soon as possible?

Antonio

HG 635 dropping

I'd be grateful for any assistance.
Since last Monday I've had constant internet drops after 9 months of unbroken service. Connection just goes completely but there are no fault lights on router and customer support says line ok. Literally, streaming stops and speed test freezes or eventually registers a ping of 800+ when it is normally 18.
I'm on fibre and used to getting 36mb.

Customer support have offered to send an engineer but I'm concerned about the possible £65 charge + parts. I know it's free if it's talktalk equipment at fault, but I'm not sure where I stand on that one because I was initially sent a hg 633 when I signed up for fibre but bought myself a 635 as I needed gigabit Ethernet.

I have no other vdsl router to test with and have tried a factory reset, different sockets etc

Thank you

I am trying (unsuccessfully) to connect via wi-fi to the HG633 router to vpn connection.

I have read  through many threads within the Talktalk community and have realised that many people are having issues.

But I do see that a trial version of firmware 1.16 will solve this problem. Please can u help me with this upgrade.

Thanks,

any OCE please organise to upgrade my firmware so i can use VPN

i have HG633 with 1.15t firmware

do i need 1.16t firmware for VPN to work?

if the answer is YES please organise or let me push the upgrade button?

if answer is 'NO' why wont VPN work?

i have already asked (Karl - OCE) to confirm this on here and heard nothing.

No point in calling 'Technical' again as they say 1.15t is latest firmware for HG633 and will not accept there is a new firmware even tho i keep directing them to this forum!!!!!!!!

i look forward to a reply

thanks

port forwarding on HG633 (Kodi 8080)

Hey guys, (hoping Keith is around),

I've read the guide that Keith has written, but am struggling to get the router to take 8080 as a port (which Kodi needs).

When I'm setting up the port on the router, it goes red if I try to save the rule and will only allow me to save it as UDP (which I dont think it is).

Any help is greatfully appreciated.

Thanks

Owen

I'm getting under a 1mb download and I'm on fibre broadband surely this can't be right for talk talk customersto get these speeds?

I could do with a little more speed if I can get it.

I am getting about 45mb at present but I am on Fibre large could we try some different settings on the line to see if we can get the speed up. Does fibre have dlm if so can we remove that and I will test the line for stability over a 48 hour period and report back.

Smiley SadHaving had very few issues with my SuperPower Fibre speeds since getting it and enjoying 70mbsp down and 11mbps up I've noticed my router is lucky to give me 25 down and more than 4 up over the last week or so which is pretty darn close to what I could get using standard broadband without paying extra.

On closer inspection I see the line rates for my router HG633 has changed.  See details below

Please could somebody look into this as I'm not paying extra for this standard of connection.Smiley Sad

How do I configure my Huawei HG633 to allow access to my Plex server installed on my PC?

Got upgraded to fibre and installed the new router Talk Talk sent through, but I now cannot access mt Plex server on my PC. The router web page shows the PC on the network, but cannot identify or see the Plex server and no client device can now connect to it over the home network. (worked okay prior to new router).

thanks
