I've have the HG633 Fibre router with a USB stick/drive plugged in the back of it.
It is "seen" by my Samsung TV all the time, which is what I wanted, I can switch the PC off up stairs
and any file or film etc that I drop on to the drive can be accessed on my TV any time without the PC being started up, which is great. So it does away with having a powered drive plugged in all the time.
The only small snag which is not too critical is, when I switch my computer on the next day say, the USB drive is "seen"
but I have to click on it to access it and enter my Name and Password, ( that I entered in the Samba section
in the router settings ) every time, there doesn't seem be any way to create a Samba connection without a Name and Password ?
I realise it's obviously for security reasons, but my Router is all ready password protected and I would have thought
I could just access the USB drive without any fuss. Anyone got any ideas?
