I decided some months ago I was going to switch to fibre only to be told I couldn't with no explanation. I eventually found out that although my area is enabled & has been for quite a few years fibre wasn't available as the demand on the cabinet was too high. When I check the openreach website this is all it tells me & just says to check back later (useless message). Why isn't there some sort of system where I can at least pre-register or let them know I am interested in fibre. If somebody moves & has the fibre dis-connected then how can I ever find out? The whole fibre situation seems amateurish, somebody leving nearby might decide they want fibre & just by luck somebody gives up their fibre & they can get it, I could check every day & just miss out by not getting in first. There seems to be no system or anybody I can inform that I want fibre. Already missed a few good deals that were around to get fibre. Getting to the point where we are considering giving up the broadband altogether as I can pick up quite a few unlocked wifi networks around me so why should I keep paying for a really slow connection.
