Hi,
I was wondering how to get an accurate speed test. I have an imac running system 10.11.6. When I test my broadband speed using different browsers I get different results.
I have just used the talktalk speed test http://www.supportal-test.co.uk and run the tests one after the other and got
Safari: Download 26755 KBits/s (3344.375 KBytes/s)
Upload 1916 KBits/s (239.5 KBytes/s)
Firefox: Download 31822 KBits/s (3977.75 KBytes/s)
Upload 1894 KBits/s (236.75 KBytes/s)
Chrome: Download 36424 KBits/s(4553 KBytes/s)
Upload1955 KBits/s(244.375 KBytes/s)
I have my computer connected to the router by ethernet. I use various speed testers mostly http://speedtest.btwholesale.com and the speed I get varies with different browsers. Testing with safari on this one I get a download speed of 37.17 but the other two browsers can go as low as 26.00. The speed tests seem quite consistent with the fastest test always giving me about 37 and the slowest 26 but I would like to know which is the true speed.
I would like to know how to get a true speed as I have all three browsers open and test the speed one after the other.
Thank you for you help.
