Issues with coms between two TalkTalk routers

Hey guys,

Me and my girlfriend are both on TalkTalk. I live in Edinburgh and she lives in Kelty. I have a HG635 and she has a HG633.

I am having troubles getting the two routers to speak with each other. I spoke with TalkTalk technical support today who simply told me that as long as my Internet connection is up and working they cannot help me.

Basically, as TalkTalk do not use static IP addressing, I had to set up DDNS on both routers and confirmed it is successfully working - so I know that at any moment I know what is the IP of the routers.

A simple example of what I mean is ... When I ping the router in Kelty from my router in Edinburgh I get destination host unreachable. However, if I ping the router in Kelty from another ISP, for example HighNet, I get absolutely no issues at all.

The same story goes the other way around - pinging the Edinburgh router from the one in Kelty.

Has anyone found a way around that apart from using a Proxy?

Kindly,

Teo
