Help! Any ways/contacts for getting major issue sorted

Been on phone for over 1hour 30 mins. Getting nowhere fast. Managed to stay polite but got nowhere.
Got "sold" an upgrade as a thank you after the personal details affair. But theyve failed completely. Told now someone will look at it on 5th Feb.
Old broadband was fine. I've made a dreadful mistake taking their upgrade. No service. Dreadful service beyond words.
Anyone have a more direct or worthwhile route to proper customer service please.
